Twitter has many effects on SEO, or search engine optimization. Think about tweeting your new content on your Twitter page. How many people are going to see that? If you have many followers, they will all see it. And if the content is worthy enough, they may share it with someone they know. In turn that someone may tweet about it. So using Twitter as a social means for your site is a great way to get your site out on the market. And if your article or page has not yet been indexed, it is a great way for the spider to find you. A page or article that is tweeted about will take less time for a spider to find and index than a site that is not tweeted about. It is almost as if the search engine is watching Twitter to find pages or articles to index.

Here are some tips that will help you make the most of your time on Twitter.

Tweeting Your Links

Tweet your links on Twitter so they are seen by all of your followers. Every time you have a new page to be put up or new content tweet about it. If you can also have someone else tweet about it, that will help you even more. You should have 2 to 4 people who help you tweet about your new content at any given time. This will allow for maximum viewers to see your new content. You may be thinking it is hard to find people to tweet about your site for you. Look hard. Ask a family member or a close friend to do it. Or you could make a deal with someone. If they tweet about your page, you will tweet about their page. Or if they do not have a page, you could pay them back another way.
Making sure your tweets are keyword rich is great SEO. Starting your tweet with your primary keyword will work wonders for you. And remember that you must make the first 42 characters count. This is what will be used for Google’s title tag.

Ask Others To Share

Let it be known that you want your content to be shared. Tell your followers that if they find your content useful or interesting, then they may share the link via social networks. Or if they know someone who is interested in your material, they may do the same.

Interact

Interaction is what will help get you further along on Twitter. People like to have the opportunity to interact rather than just have information thrown at them. They do not like just an advertisement. But with Twitter, you are getting the best of both worlds. You advertise your new material, and then your visitors can interact with you. Just make sure you are interacting back to get the most out of it that you can.

Twitter is a great way to make your site soar. Opening a Twitter account and tweeting about your site will help you have your new content indexed faster and is a great way to have new visitors to your site.
