Link Wheel is a link building strategy to get lots of backlinks and achieve high page rank in the shortest possible time.

In its basic essence, link wheels are wheel like patterns that allow the flow of links from one website to another and so on, until the user is linked to a particular website that requires promotion. This popular technique can be used to improve the positioning or ranking of one’s site. Link wheels, thus, use the influence of high ranking web 2.0 sites to construct targeted backlinks, to the main website that requires endorsement. This can help produce fine results for one’s business or website, since the main aim of link wheel is to enhance search rankings for particular keywords.

So far, I have briefly answered the question as to what are link wheels, however, now the focus of this piece will shift on how to create link wheels.

There are chiefly four main points to remember about building effective link wheels:

  • Appropriate keywords
  • Using and amassing data on web 2.0 sites
  • Using articles and content of high quality
  • Getting the sites linked and making the wheel

Step 1

It is thus of prime importance to search for and use relevant keywords for the construction of a successful link wheel. Keywords are precise words or phrases that are used to point out the general features, specific nature and advantages etc. of a seller’s product or service. The use of the ‘right’ keyword on your website can be a stepping stone for effective SEO. Thus, keyword tools can be used to allocate appropriate and relevant keywords which will generate more traffic for your website.

Step 2

The next step in creating the link wheel is to select high PR web 2.0 sites. These sites are used as a tool for sharing information over the internet and thus are a vehicle through which your website can achieve top rankings in SERPs, for the selected keywords.

Step 3

The third step is probably the most important and is geared towards getting high-quality articles/content prepared for your website. This is particularly important, as your website’s content can have a lasting positive impact if it is informative and engaging.

Last Step

The last stage, while creating the wheel, is to link the sites together and finally construct the link wheel. Once the relevant keywords, web 2.0 sites and quality content is selected and prepared, the content should be published in a way that each submission offers two links; one which will lead to main website that needs to be promoted and the second to another web 2.0 site that has been created, as part of the wheel pattern. This is the general rule followed in link wheel creation.

If the above mentioned steps are followed in an orderly manner an effective link wheel can be created which will work as a beneficial and powerful tool in boosting your webpage’s ranking.
