Google is opportunistic. Why not? They don't charge us for using Google search engines. We pay nothing. Why shouldn't we be advertised to in some way? Even if it's just links to other useful Google products.

Yes. From what I remember, the job applicants paid at least $200 for access to the job opportunity listings. While most job sites charge employers and let the job seeker browse resumes for free.
If memory serves, it was a monthly fee, like $20 + dollars/monthly, totaling $200 something dollars a year. But the typical search engine user was a lawyer or other high paid professional. So they could afford it.
Well, pretty much understandable. A normal internet user might not afford that kind of feature and will just rely on search engines like Google... I might use that if I could earn more than 10 times the amount that I pay them.
