What's your favorite photo sharing site?

For awhile I was using Photobucket which lets you upload your personal photos and tag them and share with others. Now I prefer photo pin sites such as Pinterest (a social bookmarking/network) where you can pin photos from your favorite sites. This is great for many reasons. For instance, if you are searching for a new hair style you can pin various photos of cuts/styles you like onto your wall in a collection for comparison. Then get feedback from others. Or, if you're planning a wedding, you can post photos of all the things you'd like to receive as gifts from guests. So many possibilities for using this.

I like to pin photos from recent blog posts on Pinterest too, considering it gives me a backlink to my site. These pinned photos end up in Google's search results quickly and give me traffic from interested readers.

What's your favorite photo sharing (bookmarking) site?

Photobucket is a good site. But to be able to use it, you need an account.
Meanwhile, Imageshack can host images even if you don't have an account. Best if you just want to post that photo once.

Kodak photo gallery? Is it free to use?
  6. Beverly Active Member

Are the Kodak Gallery pages available in search engines or private? Most people in internet marketing/blogging use photo/pin sites because they get into search engines.

I guess those are private photo albums, similar to Photobucket, where you need to have it posted somewhere to be able to get noticed by search engines.

Though most photo galleries have a public photo option setting.
  9. Tommy Matalino Active Member

Yeah. But it can only be seen by search engines if you have posted tags or if the filename comes with the name or description of the photo.

That's just common sense obviously as tags/description are usually required on most photo sites. Though I'm not sure all sites allow their pages to be searched by bots.

Well, I know it's common sense but not all people fill those up. After uploading a photo, they just leave it there, get the embed or HTML link, and post it on their blogs.

Well I mostly prefer Pinterest , it gives me good traffic. In pinterest I can make links to Twitter and facebook. Instagram is also a good photo sharing site.

Maybe those people are not interested in SEO and are only casual internet users, not internet marketers or bloggers.

    Does Instagram allow backlinks?
  14. edword84 New Member

As per my knowledge Instagram gives you traffic not the Backlinks.
I never get any backlinks from Instagram.

I know Instagram is a photo sharing tool, but as Beverly is asking, does it allow backlinks?
And how can it give you traffic if you can't post a link on it?
  16. edword84 New Member

Instagram not give the backlinks. For instagram traffic you have to use pinterest boards. If you couple your pinterest board with an instagran account than traffic generated to your site.

Then, it's not Instagram, it's Pinterest. You can use Facebook and Twitter in Pinterest. So what's the difference of using Instagram?
  18. edword84 New Member

Now I realize that my thinking is wrong. Thanks for giving me knowledge.
