What are the best websites for learning programming?

I recently started learning PHP and found a few useful resources online to learn programming. Here are some of them:

Vtc.com – This is a website that provides videos for tutorials on a wide range of computing subjects from programming to networking and security. The disadvantages with VTC is that everything is taught using videos so it can be a bit dull at times.
Code Academy – This is a very useful resource to get hands on experience. You learn how to code and get to code on the website to get some practice. However, generally, the courses are quite basic and won’t bring you very far.

What other online resources are there for learning programming?

Well thankfully internet today is full of very useful tutorials and specially video tutorials. I was learning a lot of new things also by looking in publicly shared snippets where you can see and study how is little things done, then you start implementing them into your project. Nowa days you can really learn anything if you have enough courage to learn. Special thanks to YouTube and all contributors who share all levels of tutorial, for beginners or for advanced programmers, i use it all the time, not just to learn, but also to get a lot more ideas for my next projects.

I've looked over code academy a while ago because a friend referred me to it when I told him to teach me lol

It's not exactly easy to understand at first, but the way they set it up you feel like they're holding your hand through the first steps like they're a parent teaching their kid to ride a bike

I wanted to get really into it but I just never had enough time to do it. Once I can get a new income stream set up that is pretty passive I'm going to invest half of my work time into learning PHP and a few other languages so that I can at least get the majority of some of my ideas coded up. I have some good ones, but I don't have the knowledge to program them :'(

Another great thing about code academy is that you can learn more than one language. I think they have courses on more than 20 languages that are pretty well developed and in a step by step process. You don't learn step 7 and go to step 5 them up to step 16. Every step is laid out for you, which I love

I've never heard of Vtc.com but you can bet now I'll be checking them out

Do they offer pretty much the same thing where you get the step by step process of learning and you don't have to worry about setting up your own learning plan? It would be pretty awesome if it was

The internet is full of tutorials which offer great help for tuition purposes. It is just great that there are many people who as so passionate about what they know that they take the time to share it with others. This is undeniably one of the beautiful things about the internet right.

Apart from that there are a good number of helpful sites too, such as Codecademy, Code School, Udacity, CodeHS, Treehouse, Code Avengers, and LearnStreet. Most are free or with relatively low rates, which seem to be lower than $100 per month. Obviously there are others which may specialize in one programming language only so it depends what you want to learn.

Codeacademy, Youtube and Channel 9 are some of my favorite resources for learning the programming. You can learn most of the premium stuff from the Udemy. There is also skillshare but most of those sites have the paid access. And it makes harder for you to invest into it at first. I am thinking about using some of the youtube type of the videos. As that can be a good option for you to start with there.

Besides codecademy, I've used TutorialsPoint, Guru99.com, and Ws3Schools. I find video tutorials boring, too, and I can only take a few minutes of it. Udemy and edx.com have courses, too, but I've never tried them. Codecademy will give you the basics but you have to watch out for the version they're using for the tutorial. Same goes with the other sites. If there's something that I need to clarify, I can just google and I'll usually find the topic on stack overflow or Youtube.

Guru99 seems to be much more instruction based site. And they do pay attention to small details. So on that note I;d surely consider using that website for most programming tutorials. And it can build some good sustainable revenue. But it does take time. You just have to build on top of that. And see where it can take you. I mostly prefer youtube these days.

I don't know Vtc.com, however, I have read good reviews of Code Academy. A year ago, when I was thinking to learn programming many people suggested me to try Code Academy. However, I never joined Code Academy. I have enrolled in programming courses on Udemy and I think Udemy offers great courses on programming among others.

Though I'm still far from learning to programme I have read about them on code blogs, programming forums, Watching on Youtube etc.To me I believe if one needs to know about programming seeing a video of it like a tutorial would just be the best.So Youtube videos of learning programming is the best.
