Has the Internet revolutionized life as we know it?

Growing up, we had no internet and no computer but now children take both of these things for granted. Though I'm sure the internet wasn't just invented in the past ten years. There's almost no one around that doesn't use the internet now for some reason. When was the birth of the Internet and how have things changed online over the past years since everyone started using it, in terms of culture, economy, webmastery? And even, how are you handling the internet different now than when you first went online?

In the beginning it was only a matter of doing some research for me as I was at University. It was at the beginning then, and I am talking in the early 2000s. Since then it has changed radically. Connections are undoubtedly better and this has also led to more stability when one tries to browse or download something. The number of websites has increased dramatically of course and this has in turn led to the importance of SEO techniques to try to rank as much as possible among the thousands of other sites who are offering the same things. Working online has also increased dramatically, especially in the past 10 years. The internet has indeed revolutionized everything.

Definitely, the internet had drastically changed our way of life particularly the social aspects. Where before we use the postal mail and the greeting cards, there is now the email and the chat features of the social media. And speaking of social media, you get connected to your friends and relatives in a very convenient way. I cannot say if it is a vast improvement of life but definitely, it is now more comfortable because of the provisions that we get from the internet.
