What if you lose interest in your own forum?

When I first started my forum, I was constantly involved in it, making dozens of daily posts, promoting and advertising. It became a full time job, taking away from every other part of my life. Time being what it is, there was only so much I could do before I had to return to my regular work and since then the forum has gotten less of my attention.

Now I am involved in wholly other activites which relate very little to my own forum. It's not as if they are compatible. And, I would love it if they were.

I'm struggling to stay interested in the forum. As it is going, I could just as easily shut down my forum and not miss it. Though we get regular forum posts, so it's not like the forum is inactive. I just don't feel involved in the forum anymore. There is no excitement, not to mention no time. I am not sure how to fix this situation so that I can get plugged back into the forum so that it correlates with my current projects now.

Hi Beverly,

In this situation I believe there is 1 perfect option available and that would be selling.

You say you have no interest anymore and it's far better than just shutting it down, that way the forum can continue and you make some money from time invested. Seems like a win win.

That is also what I would do in that situation.

Regards,
Karoshio

I agree that if you are no longer interested in doing this, then you might consider selling it. It may bring more joy and comfort to someone elseWhat if you lose interest in your own forum?

I would say that if you have no interest in it, then sell. No use in having a forum lie around that you are not really caring about.

Sell it. No use in having a site that you are not going to do anything with any more.

Sell it while you can is the best advice that I can offer you.

Sell and move on. Create a forum that excites you and gets you out of bed in the morning. If you have lost this excitement for your current forum, there is little chance you will just get it back.

In anything you do, your interest is the most important. As they say, if you enjoy your work then you are not working at all. If you lose interest in your forum, what is in it for you? Maybe it is better to sell it instead of just closing it down. To continue with the forum is not practical anymore.
