    Would you report someone to their ISP?

    If a member spammed your forum heavily or threatened other members, would you report their IP to their internet service provider for legal action?

    That seems very extreme, but if they are mass spamming you, then what choice would you have?

    The spammers are just using a VPN to change the IP so even if you can identify one IP to ban and report, they will change and come back with another IP and start over again. The person behind the IP won't actually get banned off the internet, even if that specific IP is banned from the ISP.

    Sometimes, reporting an IP is the only way to protect your site as it takes that person off the internet and keeps them from hurting others.
