I currently own a blog. I created it about 1 year and 8 months ago. I started to get a steady traffic and income after 7 months of setting it up and getting ads on, the right domain, and of course blog posts.

Woah! I never had thought that it will be that long. I had been thinking if I should make a blog. And, knowing that it could take almost two years before it stabilize is really a challenge.

It depends on the blog posts that you are writing. If you are passionate about it and know your stuff that should not take you too long to write. Then you can move on to doing other things to get the blog established.

Yes, I also believed that this could be a factor. If you are passionate on what you are doing you will be progressing faster. You are enjoying what you are doing so in the end you will be working more than you expect.

Blog promotion will take the longest with any new blog. You'll want to tap your own network of friends to read your initial blog posts.

You can set up your blog in less than one minute (if you are using free blogging platform), and no more than 24 hours (if you buy your own domain, buy hosting, install CMS and make it live). You can even publish dozens of articles in few minutes (if you have previously written articles), however, getting traffic is not instant. You can of course share your blog on social media or send links to your friends through private messages or emails and gain traffic. However, you will have to wait for at least 6 months to get search engine traffic.

it depends on how much effort and money you put into it, If you buy traffic you are going to get it quick but you need to actually invest in it. Also you need to invest your time in it too. Don't pretend to gain money if you are not putting any effort, with this I mean you actually need to post daily, you can do it by yourself or hire some writers to do it for you. It's a matter of how much you want to invest and how much you want to get from it... I have to say having a profitable blog doesn't happen overnight and can be a hard task if you are not determinated enough...

The mention of initial blog posts, yeah, thatshould be a great concern if you have plans of putting up your blog. I am actually in that situation now because my planned blog is still in the air for more than a year already. I have some articles written but they are not enough to give me the confidence that my blog will have a regular updating. Imagine the wasted time if you launch your blog and after 2 or 3 months you run out of articles to post. That would be a big disaster not only for the wasted effort but also to your ego.

That's what happened to me when I launched my blog. I had few pre-written articles. I published these articles with few days gap for a couple of months. When my entire prewritten articles were published I had to write new articles. sadly, I could not because I was engaged in so many things. I could not publish new contents for months. This almost killed my blog. I was already receiving traffic, but in absence of fresh content, I lost my traffic

I created my blog from scratch, it took me approximately 5 days to put everything together. So creating a blog duration varies it depends on the availability of time and money but if it just a free domain then it the only time that might be needed. If there's time in just 2 days averagely one just stop posting and that is that.

Creating a blog is a journey, not a destination. That said, you can be up and running in minutes to a few hours. If you go down the path of self-hosting, most companies will install WordPress or other blogging platforms for free. Then, it is just a matter of customizing... picking your theme and plugins. In the beginning, all you really need is an SEO and a Security plugin. The most important thing is content. Then, it will likely take 3 to 6 months before you see consistent organic traffic.

You can create your own Blog Site along with some content in a couple of hours. Now with regards to traffic to your new site, the fastest way is to share an interesting content along with your link in various social media platforms, I suggest to share on Facebook first because it's easier to get traffic from there. Doing this you could get initial traffic within a day or two.

I agree that Facebook is the most fertile place now when it comes to marketing your interest. In promoting your new blog, you have to think of a nice and attractive spiel so that your connections in Facebook will have the tendency to click on the link of your blog and probably read it. If you get a hundred readers from Facebook then that is estimated to be 20 regular readers if your blog is interesting.

You can start and create one in just an hour. The hard part is filling it with quality content and monetizing it. It usually takes 4-6 months of constant work for that to happen.
