Are you a strict buyer?

When you are buying a service here on SEO Clerks, do you look to make sure you get absolutely everything you paid for, and if not, give a bad review? or Do you give some lee-way and give the seller chance to put things right on the second go?

For Me: I never give someone a negative review straight away after receiving my order, I will always just send them a message on the order page saying to them what is wrong and can the put it right. If not, then I will also look for my money back too. Are you a strict buyer?

So how do you deal with orders that done come back quite as you wanted them too?
Do you try to work things out? or Just give a review, then move on?

I use to let people get away with so much stuff but I've lost too much money this way. These days I will reject orders, initiate mutual cancellations, and leave negative feedback.

Well, as someone who has been described as the "worst buyer ever on SEOClerks", I guess I must be a strict buyer.

And the reason I am is because I'm not after a one-off gig, I'm after a long-term relationship with someone I can trust and work with to build a successful business for both of us. I'm a firm believer in the teachings of W Edwards Deming and this is a core principle of his. Do you know who the biggest example of this is? Markus Frind of PlentyOfFish.com. He does the parts he enjoys and outsources the parts he doesn't to people who enjoy doing them. The result: everyone gets rich and everyone is happy.

I think it morally wrong not to give a bad review for a bad service. Not doing so is like walking through the woods, getting caught in a bear trap, struggling to get out only turn around and reset it for the next poor victim. However, so far, I've only had the backbone to do it once because I do it as a last resort. The first thing I do is contact the person privately and voice my grievance and only if there is no fruitful dialogue am I forced to give a bad review. You see, I don't come here wanting to give a bad review. I come here because I have problems that I want solved. Everytime I get a gig with a new person, I really want to write a great review and I want to be able to go back to that same person and get the same great service again and again and again. Sadly, out of all the people I have tried so far, that has only happened twice (thank you, Ajlancer and Karoshio). The rest of the time, the results have been disappointing - even from Level X sellers.

But part of me hates causing a fuss, I am British, after all. So what I do is try one of the $1 or $2 gigs from a new person and if they're no good, I consider the money well spent on finding that out and never order again

It's a shame, really. SEOClerks could be an awesome site offering an invaluable and much needed service. But so far, based on my experience, that seems to be true for a tiny minority.

I can only speak for services that I have purchased online and say that if someone does a bad service then I will ask them to do it over or fix it better. But online, about all you can do is leave a bad or negative review as sometimes they will not comply when you ask them to fix the problem.

So long as the person made a reasonable effort to fix the problem, then I would not be too tough on them. A reasonable effort is all that is required and of course, I would take into account how much money the job cost me. For instance, if it cost just a few dollars I would be less picky than if it cost $100 out of pocket. That would be a big loss if the job were not done right.

I'm Strict Buyer, I informed my requirements before start. once he failed to do, then i will ask them for reason if it's acceptable then leave +ve review but if it's not acceptable reason i gave -ve comment.

If I purchase a service, I always give the seller a fair shot to deliver on the promise. If there is a problem, them I try my best to communicate with them via PM. If they don't bother to respond, comply or even try to fix the issue within a reasonable amount of time (especially before they get paid my money and the order closes) - then I have no choice but to leave negative feedback.

I am quite lenient, and I go with the flow; however in the same breath I do expect good communication in the same way as I provide my clients. It helps to be a Seller while being a Buyer as well, so you can be on both ends of the stick.

I'm a firm believer of not misrepresenting yourself for the services you are providing. I had made a previous order for what I thought to be a Hand Sketch, as the samples seen were unbelievably BEAUTIFUL (Click HERE to see the listing), and I wanted the same... I had ordered (even though it was many days since he logged in) and he got back to me within a couple of hours. I provided him with some pictures of my son, @Asmodeus and myself.

The results I seen were absolutely horrible, as they weren't hand sketched; they were done through crappy software which would have been better used as a garbage can. @Asmodeus and I couldn't believe the results. Of course, I told him as such. I advised him they needed to be hand drawn, like the samples given. He instructed for me to give him a positive review before he went on to making it better, and I refused. A couple of days passed and again the work was not well done at all. It looked as though my pictures were of something from a horror flick.

Again he asked for a positive review, I advised him the only way I would give him a positive review is if he was to change his service to what he was ACTUALLY selling. He agreed, so I gave him a positive review.

A few days later, I checked on his service listing, and to no avail, he DID NOT make ANY changes to his listing. I took it upon myself to write a comment on it explaining the situation to make other Buyer's aware that he wasn't actually providing hand drawn pictures and to beware. I tried to change my positive to a negative, however I couldn't.

Misrepresentation shouldn't be happening, as it goes against business morals and ethics. Are you a strict buyer?
