Advertising on shoes

The Supra brand shoe has a sole that can double as available ad space, a novel idea from Horizon media.

Every time the shoe hits the dirt, it leaves an imprint of the ad for others to see.

Would you try this novel advertising idea? If so, when/where/how would you apply this idea to your own business and would you use for online or offline businesses?

On a muddy sports field or after a rain storm, this could be a really effective ad, assuming the impressions in the dirt/mud were clear enough and many people were looking at the ground.

This is a very cool idea. I think that it could lead to some good advertising if people are looking at the ground a lot.

I just do not see it. I mean I know that I do not go around looking at the ground. I think that it would be a missed opportunity.

I just do not see a shoe bringing in much of an advertisement. I would not buy into this.

Pardon me for laughing. This is the first time I've heard of such an advertising gimmick. But in fairness, I think it is worth it because people are now conscious with branded shoes. I remember my husband when he bought his 3-year old shoes. It was of a good brand here. When the shoes was more than a year old, we were in Hongkong then when he sat with one leg on his other knee. That when I noticed that the tag price of his shoes was still intact on the sole. What if that tag was an ad? For sure it will be noticed.
