Does Getting Banned in One Search Engine, Ban You In Others?

If my website gets banned from lets say Google Search Engine, does this effect me in other search engines and get me banned from them too? I am not talking about whatever it is that would have got me banned, I am just wanting to know if getting the ban would result in other search engines banning me too purely because I was banned in another one? o_O

No it would not. If Google bans you, Bing might also ban you for the same reasons you got banned from Google, but it wouldn't be because you got banned from Google.

However keep in mind: Yahoo is powered by Bing search, so if you get banned from Bing, you are also banned from Yahoo.

I think they would be independent of each other, unless one is stealing results from the other. And, for awhile there were accusations that was going on. /

I totally agree, its not possible to get banned from other search engines if you are banned on google. They have different algorithms and different owners that's why its okay.

It depends on the kind of violation because search engines have different policies about the banning. Maybe if you are banned by Google then it may have an effect on other search engines although I am not really sure about it. I am surprised by the post above that says Yahoo is powered by Bing. Does that mean Yahoo is under the aegis of Microsoft now?
