Don you have a niche already? In that case, you should already have keywords. For example, if your site is on travel niche, your keywords can be hotel, car rentals, holiday destination, city tour etc. Now go to google keyword planner tool and check how these keywords are doing on google search. You should always settle with The keywords thleast possibilitiesthan 500 hits in a month and less than 5000 hits. If you choose a keyword that gets more than 5000 hits, you must understand the keyword is very competitive. If it is less than 500, there is least possibilities of getting any traffic.

I guess that is a good advice for newcomers to the SEO methods particularly the keywords. I am also at a loss on how to choose the right keywords for a site and I didn’t know that you have to adhere to the niche otherwise your keyword may get lost. I also appreciate the suggestion about Google keyword planner which I think is a practical approach in knowing the right keywords to tag your contents with.

You can write on any topics you like, however, you need a focus keywords on your writing. The focus keyword is the keyword that best describe your content. You can first write your content and then choose a word or phrase that best describe your content and use it on the title and body. However, you need to make sure your keywords get at 500 hist per month and less than 5000 hits per month. If your focus keywords does not get 500 hist, you might never receive search traffic. If you are using keywords that get more than 5k hits, you need to understand that the competition is very high.
