Pardon me for saying that I think you got it wrong with the question. Optimizing an image for SEO means you make the image friendly to the search engines. So where does Pinterest comes into play? Maybe you need to read the question very well before posting a reply because the forum is an open field but it does not mean that you can post garbage that I’m sure the admin will agree with me to be careful with the posts.

Besides, I also learn that we can name our image in purposes (site name or keyword..). I also have description for my image. In the description, of course I note about keywords. Is it ok?

You should use correct image formats (jpeg for photographs, png for line art).

You should fulfill all the alt tags for img tags.

You should use your keywords in alts, and make those alts unique.

Use images to decorate, inform and break up large blocks of text, but do not overdo it.

Add ‘click-ability’ cues to images that are links.

Avoid images of text.

Add ‘click-ability’ cues to images that are links.

This is an interesting concept. You could hyperlink photos so they are linking to pages that relate to the theme of the photo. I wonder if Google would understand the two things (photo and linked to page) are related.

Your image should have keyword as the image name
Your image should have keywords in the description.
You should have a caption for your image. There should be keywords on the caption.
recently, I came to know that you also have to add alt tag in order to optimize your images for search engines. Image optimization helps when someone does an image search. Your images will appear in image search based on the alt tags you have used.

I didn’t know that you can optimize an image that you post on your web page. The only idea I have about photos is to be in the compressed format so it will occupy a small size in storage that will make it quicker to be displayed for the benefit of the user. And I also didn’t know about those tags that you can add so that you can have some connections to the search engines in terms of keywords.
