solid on-page SEO

In my experience I find the following to make for really solid on-page SEO

Title tag is one of the most important on-site SEO components.
Keyword in title
keyword in last paragraph
keyword density is that important but usually 1%-2%

H1 for your main keyword and a few H2 tags for your secondary keywords. Title tags for links & alt tags for images too! ;)

Content length: The longer the length of the content, better it is. Though don’t try to uselessly increase the content size.

There's so much talk online about backlinks and marketing strategies that most people tend to completely forget about on-page SEO. They think that just by installing Yoast and making a sitemap, they've taken care of their on-page SEO troubles.
In truth, onpage SEO is far than just technical search only tasks nowadays. Everything from site speed to how you present your content to how you optimise it for social will have an impact on your SEO to some extent and therefore deserves to be optimised.

1. Boost site speed
2. Setup sharing buttons
3. Automate Image Optimization
4. Make Sure to Not Cannibalize Existing Keywords

The keyword in the last paragraph is interesting. I assume that the last paragraph is the ending of the contents of the web page. I wonder what the significance is of the keyword that appears in the last portion of the contents. Is there a possibility that the crawler is only looking at the beginning and at the ending of the web page? If that is so then that is a new issue about keywords.
