    If you stopped updating SEO for your site

    If you quit updating your site's SEO, (such as stopped adding new content or backlinking), how long would your site still stay in Google search before it was removed or became obsolete and was replaced by other sites for the same terms? For instance, is there any time period for which you don't have to do SEO and can still hold onto your spot in search?

    Every day, thousands of new sites and pages are created online, whether websites, blogs, wikis or Hubpages. And, all these new pages represent your competition, especially if they are similar in content to what you are offering for your site. These new sites are likely to unseat you from even the most secure search position if you are not constantly posting new content as Google prefers regularly updated sites with good content.

    My assumption would be approximately six months to close to a year before your site would get completely canned out of search. I've waited to update some of my sites over three - four months, and I still ranked with in the first three pages. I also believe it would depend on how competitive your niche is. If it's saturated beyond belief, then it will probably be much quicker than that.

    If u stopped update seo, your site go nature search, but today, A milion website is created every day, the compare is so high, if u stopped, your site be able to lost in Search tools and not effective on business ( if u are business)

    See it depends on niche of your website if your niche is about smoething which is not searched much which is not competettive so even after not updating your site for 3 months or not even doing seo for 3 months ranking will stay but if your website niche is of high competetion for example like"buy facebook like" that means constant seo and constant update on website as your competetitor are doing seo for there website to maintain there positions so you will have to make constant update on it as well..

    Better We Should Continues the SEO on daily base, but sometime we can't update the daily work with our blog or site, Many Competitive online similar site to your niche continues work with your same Business. if u don't do anything with your site, as per my knowledge you will be out of Google within 3 months from the Google front page and even more too.

    Apart from this, i have been currently working with the many client's site, Mostly we work on daily base and update a weekly Report and Tested the Ranking of each keywords in Google weekly. but sometime we couldn't give the proper time, so we can see the changes with keywords in Google ranking, suppose i am on Google #7 with the weekly Report while working on site daily base. If I left the work on our site for 3 to 4 days I was away from the Google front page. which is not a exact but approximately it happens with Currently with me.

    We are in digital world for every minute peoples are coming with new websites ,so my suggestion you have to keep doing SEO , we cant say accurately that you site rank will go down it may take 2 days ,3 days its all depend on you neighbour computation

    Your website gets down in ranking if you stopped publishing new content or backlinking.
    The time depends on your competition in your niche. For example, if your product is suppose content writing, blogging, I bet you know everyday thousands of pages or websites are entering into the market.
    so never stop SEO if you want to maintain in your position at SERP.

    If you stop updating after few days your website rank and page rank both will be decreased.

    I think it depends on the quality backlink which you created for particular keywords if you created quality backlinks then your rankings will be stable up to 3 months if any algorithm is not updated in the sense

    I have come across more than 2 discussions that say the evaluation of websites vis-à-vis the ranking in the search list takes time and no definite period. It can be a day, a week, a month or even more than a month. With those statements, I guess the down slide of the website due to non-activity will also undergo that indefinite period that the stagnant website can stay in its present rank for a day, a week, a month or even longer.
