Do festive celebration seasons affect sales

Please i wish to know if festive celebrations like eld-el-fitir, Christmas, Easter, new year etc do lead to drastic drop or no sales at all? Or the sales remain unaffected? i noticed this last year December during the Christmas and new year celebrations but when the Muslims celebrated their 3-day salah period this year, the level of sales remained almost unaffected as i was still getting some sales, though it wasn't steady during that period.
Have anyof you experienced this issue?
Please i need your suggestions, opinions and feedbacks to this so i can prepare further ahead when another festive season is approaching. Thank you.

it am refering to sales in terms of SEO services generally, not really physical products like shoes, bags, cars etc. different kind of sales do respond to different seasons.

Well I am a buyer and I won't usually make any purchases over Christmas but any other time of the year I keep working full on.

I take some time off to spend with my family so everything slows down my side.

I am not sure what freelancers experience though? I suppose it depends on what type of business the buyers have doesn't it?

Some businesses pick up over Christmas and others shut down for 3 weeks....

It is a pleasure, but remember I am only one buyer LOL

Oh and I also had an online store until Feb this year. I noticed sales went up in October and November but as December arrived it was DEAD. I think because I sold physical products people were buying for Christmas and I do think people get nervous with buying online that perhaps there might be a delay to orders being delivered so they might arrive late. Also a lot of people go on leave (and hence on holiday) from the 15th of December so they are not home to receive deliveries.

I always had everything go dead quiet from December to mid January.

Maybe plan on having some great sales and things at the end of November to beginning of December to try and squeeze those last few sales in and depending on how long your services take to have your customers happy with the results by latest say mid November?

Sales of gift items definitely increase during the holiday season and other festive occasions because people have the tendency to buy. But if you are not into sales then you might as well take the day off to relax and be with your family. As a freelancer, I also take time out like last weekend when I was on vacation with the family for 2 nights. It was grand and I really needed that respite to energize my body and mind.

It is very normal for buyers to take a break during the holiday periods. It is something to be expected. I notice a decline in sales as most other sellers do, and actually I think it is a good thing as I get to take a little break too. Holidays are a part of life and as sellers I guess we need to be ready for them and accept the fact that most people are not going to be interested in SEO services as much as any other day. If you still want to get sales you could offer a discounted rate maybe.

Yeah right, a good way for sellers to cool off too. hmmmm,.. most especially sellers will lots of orders like the front page sellers. but i am not on the front page so i rely on bumps and some level of promotions to get buyers. but that discount of a thing seems a good idea to me, maybe i will give it a try someday.

Hi chetaseo thanks for your nice question. I think it is depend on what kind of festival going on on such country. For example: eld-el-fitir only celebrate Muslim and most of the Muslim living in Asia and as per as I know Asian buyer not much comparatively European or American. So, sell will not chance as much too. And if you talking about Christmas festival. I saw sell may change few, and last Christmas I missed normal sale for 1 month at least. Because, festival involved American and European. I do not say, sale may fall dramatically, but gradually it may effect on sale. it is just common sense all people are enjoying religious festival al least and you will miss those, where at this moment going on festival.
