How to generate Affiliate Sales

I am new to affiliate marketing, not just referring to SEOClerks but marketing with affiliate programs in general. I want some basic details to help me get started in generating affiliate income, this residual money that so many of you are enjoying now.

Can anyone guide me as to how can we generate affiliate sales?

Thanks in advance

Start blogging and create a ton of quality content. After you do that you're not even close to done, sorry to burst your bubble How to generate Affiliate Sales

Building a passive income with online sales is not an easy thing to do. You'll need to put in the time, probably more than a 9 to 5 job, in order to build a passive income stream.

I always tell people to start blogging in order to start this up. If you blog about SEO, Online Marketing, Affiliate Sales, etc. you'll eventually bring in enough people to build a passive income through SeoClerks.

Another route you could go, if you can afford it, is to set up a website and buy ads to try and get sign ups. You can't push affiliate links through Google, Yahoo! and Bings advertising platform, but you can use affiliate links through websites like BuySellAds ;)

You can find some ads for cheap and hope they bring in some sales. But I've noticed that on BuySellAds the impressions always seem inflated How to generate Affiliate Sales

Yes I have to agree with Razzy here. I am an affiliate marketer and I have blogs. It takes time and a huge amount of work to build up residual income.

I am not saying it isn't worth it, not at all. What I am saying is that all these "online marketing gurus" that claim you can make buckets of cash overnight by hardly doing anything at all are not being truthful.

I agree, set up your own website, start writing quality content and most importantly learn how to do it properly. Once you have the skills you will have won half the battle.

Oh right, I forgot to mention the "Gurus" How to generate Affiliate Sales

Never believe 90% of the sales pitches you read when you're searching for an ebook or system on how to make money online. I say this because only 10% of the time you'll find something that is actually trying to help you, and it's rare. I've read plenty of ebooks out there on marketing, SEO, online marketing, PR, etc. and not many of them actually helped me out. They will give you a few steps and then ask you to sign up to be a paid member in order to "learn" more. It's basically a pay to learn program that will never teach you all the steps. These programs will give you around 3 of the 10 steps to learn how to make money. After you sign up you'll get steps 4 through 8 and that's it. Why would someone print out a detailed plan on how to make money online? lol. If they had a system to make thousands online within a week, two weeks, a month, etc. don't you think they'd be exploiting this business model themselves?

There are others out there that sell systems that do work, but they've been beaten to death so much that you will never reach the profits that the "Guru" preaches. Some systems did make $10,000 to $20,000 a month but now you would be lucky to pull in $100 a month since most of these systems were nuked to hell How to generate Affiliate Sales

You just have to be smart and think for yourself. Talk with people who are in the same boat as you and try not to fall into the "Make $10,000 a week!" scams How to generate Affiliate Sales

LOL exactly Razzy that is what I always find amusing. These "gurus" say that they just want to help people, help everyone make money online and that is why they are sharing their secret no-fail way to make loads of money online easily and fast.

I don't get it myself, I just look at that and think "Oh what a lying, dishonest idiot" but it seems lots of people fall for it??

Oh yeah, tons of people fall for it. I think they fall for it because they give into their ambitions, hopes and dreams of making their first million online. People want to make thousands online so bad that they lower their defenses and purchase crap online that says they can make millions online lol How to generate Affiliate Sales

Hell, I was one of these people 13ish years ago How to generate Affiliate Sales I bought something that told me I could make $10,000+ a month online by just posting ads to websites. I quickly found out that this was their work around to avoid saying "It's possible to make $10,000 a month from putting adsense on you website, but it takes a ton of time to optimize and build traffic streams before you'll even see a penny" but that doesn't sell as well lol How to generate Affiliate Sales

I can't tell if these "Gurus" are killing the market or making it better for me. I guess it's a little bit of both.

Killing it: I think they're hurting the market because they're taking advantage of others and no one is a huge fan of that. These "Gurus" change the minds of people who want to get into websites but when they get burned the quickly leave. The ones that do stay in the market are now distrusting of everything and won't pay me for my services lol How to generate Affiliate Sales

Helping It: I say they could possibly be making the market better because they're considered "the best" and when they burn all their clients I get emails asking if I can help How to generate Affiliate Sales I get emails at least 3 times a week from people that bought a system that was suppose to help them, but actually hurt them. I then sign up these clients and fix everything the "Guru" did. This is why they could possibly be helping the market, but it's not in a good way.

Razzy that has to be it, people so badly want to believe it is true that they can become rich overnight that they just block out everything (including common sense lol) and believe what they are told and fall for this BS.

I think it is sad, I review scams on one of my websites and when I tell people what a load of rubbish something is some of my readers really get very upset defending these scams. It must be because I am saying something that they really don't want to hear if they have signed up and are putting all their hopes and dreams into it.

It sounds like you are really helping people, that can only be good. It's not your fault that other people are creating scams and shitty products that you fix up.

Razzy, I'm just wondering... have you come across Instaniche yet? They were marketing their product as a wonder software that instantly sets up money making websites that makes money on auto pilot... they say they have found an amazing loophole with Google that instantly ranks your website on page 1 so you make sales from day 1 LOL.

Lmao they're probably finding niches that have no competition and building a few links to rank a website. You'll make money right away, but it will be a few pennies a day How to generate Affiliate Sales

From the feedback I have received from people on my review of Instaniche so far it seems there is a lot more work involved from you than they make out initially. It also seems like it just doesn't work.

One person said they requested a refund and Instaniche just kept offering other products and suggestions for ages... until the money back guarantee was over and then refused to refund then because it had gone over the specified time.

How awful is that? I just stick to my golden rule: If it seems too good to be true then it is.

lmao I'm going to start reading the reviews for intaniche and see what they say How to generate Affiliate Sales

Yeah, I agree with you that if it's too good to be true, it probably is. I've seen plenty of shitty services preach that they're the next big thing just so they could get a load of initial sales. After a few months the website is dead, but they made plenty of money from the "marketing" they did to convince people to sign up.

Almost all of them preach that they are the next best thing. I get so tired of seeing that and I won't purchase products that say that. Yes they might be a great product but the chances are slim to zero it is some amazing new formula that has never been seen before. What a load of hogwash.

First of all you need to create a site or a blog and beef them up with good content. Obviously the content needs to be as informative and as shareable as possible. As pointed out by my friends, it is also important to utilize social media platforms but do not focus too much on them as most people tend to overdo it, and there are rules to be followed, such as on Facebook you cannot just paste your affiliate link. Affiliate stores are also a good option, and I would also suggest posting in forums as long as you do not go against the rules.

As an affiliate marketer, I have been trying to generate affiliate sales for a long time. I did have some sales, however, the commission is not enough to pay for hosting and domain renewal. I use amazon, commission junction, and linkshare. I have earned on amazon and commission junction, however, nothing on linkshare. I am thinking to remove linkshare product ads from my site.
You need organic traffic to drive sales. You get organic traffic only through SEO. Therefore, the first criteria is to optimize your site for search engine.
Sociaal media also brings traffic that might convert.

I am still struggling to become a successful affiliate marketer. I mean I want to be the marketer that shows thousands of dollars earned from sales of affiliate products. There are people out there who say that's how much income they generate on a regular basis. That hasn't happened for me. Income has been earned though not consistently.

I can tell you some things that I've noticed over the years. It's been 10 years.

I signed up to create web pages at certain sites that were set up for affiliate marketing. I earned income from those sites. Some of those sites no longer exist.

I created my own websites and blogs. The hardest part was and still is getting traffic to the sites.

Then the Ad Blocker was invented. Talk about a kick in the head! Nevertheless, I kept calm and carried on with my affiliate marketing efforts.

It's strange but at about the same the Ad Blocker came along, Amazon came up with Native Ads. I don't know because I have not done the analysis but when I started using the Native Ads at my sites, I started seeing commissions in my Amazon Associate account. Not thousands of dollars. But people were obviously clicking on links from my sites. I credit the Native Ads.

Another thing is that some people say you NEED a blog or website to post affiliate links. NEED? I humbly disagree. It's NICE to have a blog or website. However, if you are active social media; particularly Twitter or Pinterest, you don't need your own site to share affiliate links.

Another thing that nobody has mentioned is VigLink. If you have a site, the code is easy to install. It works seamlessly with your site and embeds affiliate links in the content by triggering off of certain words. If you don't have a site, VigLink has this feature called “VigLink Anywhere”. You can convert a link that you find at the sites on their list of Merchants and share those links via social media. You will earn for sharing if a purchase results. These are the exact words at their site:

Links you post to Twitter, Facebook or even emails can take the earning power of VigLink along for the ride. Just build the URL with VigLink, shorten if you like, and share anywhere. Get paid when clicks turn into purchases.
It's an easy approval process, an easy installation process, and an easy link sharing process. The only thing that sucks about VigLink that you have to earn $100 before receiving a payout. Some people say they have been very successful with VigLink and they say most of their sharing has been via social media, not at a website. I can't say that yet. But I can say one day I hope to be able to report on my monetary and financial success. I was only using VigLink on my websites and blogs. However, when I started posting the converted links via my social media accounts I noticed revenue beginning to accumulate when I checked my VigLink dashboard.

So for affiliate marketing, you can use websites, blogs, and/or social media.
