Should I hire a freelancer to write content for my own site?

For my work I mainly do a lot of content writing and I get a lot of orders. This takes up a lot of my time and makes it harder for me to manage my own websites, which is not an issue normally but I am currently expanding my sites at an alarming rate. I was wondering if I should outsource the content to another writer so I can focus more on the clients that actually pay. Are any of you freelancers and if so do you ever hire people to do the same job you do for a personal project?

I write all my own content unless I get swamped with work. I like to get at least 10 pages of content up each month on each of my websites and sometimes that gets pretty tedious since I have a bunch of sites. I do have a few people that I trust to write content for me, but that's it. I won't let them go on writing sprees and charge me $1,000 lol. If I do need to have them write something I will contact them and go over what I need done. Normally I do around 20 to 30 articles at a time so that the writer is busy for 2 or 3 of my websites. I like to do articles that are around 1,000 words long and I'll usually pay them around $10 per post, so around $1.00 per 100 words.

I didn't find my writers overnight, it took me some time to weed out the crappy ones to find the few that I send work to. You can post on a few websites, but SeoClerks is a good place to post a WTB (want to buy) service in order to find credible writers who can do what you need for the price you can afford Should I hire a freelancer to write content for my own site? If you can find someone that writes in your native language, that would be best. I haven't found an affordable writer in the US that can do my work, but I have found a few in the Philippines who can Should I hire a freelancer to write content for my own site? The Philippines actually speaks English and not just tagalog because they are the second biggest country to have call centers.

So in the end, write your own content as long as you're not swamped.
Hire a writer if you can find one that does good work and is affordable.

Writing takes a lot of time, which you could use to do other things especially if you have several sites to see to. I suggest you try to prioritize what you need to do, as some things can only be handled by you, whereas writing can be delegated to someone else. If you feel that you are not able to handle it all, you could try to assign some articles to a writer, making sure you specify what you need, such as writing style, keywords etc. Just make sure you do not get stressed out by trying to keep up with everything, including all of the writing.

I do agree with you on that writing and creating regular content tends to take a lot of time more so if we're talking about quality content. If a site owner is hard-pressed on time then the best thing to do is to hire a qualified freelancer to write additional content for him.

Hi Hasa1015 thanks for your nice question. I prefer myself for doing everything for my website. Specially I do SEO myself and I never hire someone for doing SEO job. Besides, I tried to write content too for my site which I have an experience. I think you will agree with me everybody do not know everything. I mean you do not have idea for all topics. It is natural. So, sometimes you need to hire someone who really experienced on that topic. And it is very good for high quality and informative content for site. I hire sometimes, if I facing such situation like do not have good idea. If you feel, you have good idea about that specific topic, so, why not writing content by yourself?

You will get satisfaction and money safe too

i personally think that you have to make sure that the amount of work you are doing is currently over whelming you. i do not think that it would be a wise option to put some one up for hire to write on your websites me personally i only step twords out sourcing when i am swamped now i do see you did mention that you are currently expanding your sites at an alarming rate as you say which sounds like a lot of work to handle alone but as i said it all depends on you and if you really need the help

I like automated systems because that means I don’t have to do as much work myself. Therefore, I hire content writers to write my own content. It is much better to focus on the actual earnings of your website and outsource all the content writing. There are cheap and good content writers out there so you won’t necessarily need to spend a lot of money in hiring freelancers but also get very good quality. The most important thing you should think about is time for money. You can work out your hourly wage by calculating the hours you put into your website and your income. I find that writing my own content spends too much time and decreases my hourly wage.

I love automated systems as well, they are truly such an asset to anyone's business. I love the automated deliveries of orders on this marketplace, also known as "Instant Delivery". They give you the ability to deliver work without you actually being online to deliver the order. However, for articles I'm not so certain how this would pan out because there is different topics for articles, unless it was a niche based service, and you changed the article after every order. What do you think about a system like I mentioned above regarding using the instant delivery, and changing the articles?

I like the idea of an automatic delivery of orders because this would mean that you can earn money while putting in minimal effort. However, I don’t think that can happen with content writing. My idea is that you can hire cheap freelancers outside to create all content for you while you find the customers. This is what I meant with an automated system; I know it isn’t very automatic but you are kind of just pretty much getting customers, outsourcing work and getting paid and theoretically if you use a marketplace like SEO Clerks, all you are doing is just transferring the information from the client to the freelancer and vice versa.

This may mean that you need to increase your price because you will only earn the difference between the freelancer price and your price.

I can completely relate to what you are struggling with here. I have not been able to keep up with writing content for my 3 websites and I am hesitating to take the step of hiring a content writer. I have made the decision that I will do it, but I am not quite ready to take the final step of placing the orders.

The thing is that if you want to keep churning out quality content and keep up with other tasks too you will have to hire someone.

There are a good number of content writers that take part in these discussions and that is how I like to choose who I will hire. Think about it, you can get an idea of exactly how they write.

I also agree with what a number of people here have said because I have experienced it regularly, not with freelancers here, but in other places. Buy one order at a time for a while to make sure that the seller continues to provide quality work. And if you start pacing larger orders build up to larger orders over time. Don't go from ordering one article to ordering 50 articles.

Good content writers are very hard to find. Quality writers cost considerably more but I think it is well worth the the money in the long term. Vetting a candidate writer in advance of hiring is imperative. Get some sample writings to ensure that you are getting the level of writing expertise and also writing style that you need. Press releases are different than article writing or blogs, always hire with this in mind. It does make a difference and you won't waste time and money with re-do's. Another benefit is that a quality writer will usually have colleagues at or above their level of writing expertise and can refer these people to you for your different projects. This will also save you a lot of time during the vetting process and get you to the experts the first time out.

Yes, you can use freelancer content writer. If you have a website and needs daily update it is a must. You can try $1 service to get quality article trials.

If you cannot write good contents, or if you don't have time to write contents, and you need contents for your website badly, you should hire a freelancer to write contents for your website. You can commission a writer to write for you. However, the main thing you need to be sure is the freelancer does not sell the same contents to another person, or the articles are basically written for you and not copied from other sources.
The basic thing is budget. You need a lot of contents and it costs big money. When you go for cheap, you might get cheap articles.

When there is an overload of work, it is only practical to hire a helping hand provided you can still earn from the arrangement. I have been commissioned to write for a forum and I recently received another offer in the same arrangement for another forum. My impression is that the forum owner is earning despite paying me for the contents that I provide. It is like I am an employee contracted to write contents and the forum owner just manages the forum. When the payback comes, a big slice goes to the owner. That's probably the scenario.

Well, it depends on how well you can write. For if you can write, then I would suggest you do the writing for your website. However, you might really need the work of a freelancer, if you're not that good in writing articles that would be catchy and interesting to read. On the case that you need a freelancer, I suggest you ask for previous works done by he/she as a way to looking into what is written to judge if they can handle your works too.

I think it depends on the amount of time available to you. In some cases you can easily pull this through. You can see that freelancers often have a good time. I think it'd be interesting to see how the content writing can solve a lot of those plans. You need to see that freeancing is a bit harder on that point. So unless you have a time, it's better to delegate the work to other people. And that's how you can pretty much build your writing portfolio and also get the content for the website. That's how I am viewing this scenario.
