What website heat map are you using?

A heat map representation can give a website administrator a better understanding on how users are actually using the website. It usually uses colors to indicate the area of the website where people are clicking stuff. Red usually means a highly popular area while green indicated a less used area.

What website heat map are you using?

It's very important to know why they're clicking and where they're clicking, it can be hugely effective to understand what attracts your users and what doesn't.

For example, if you have certain functionalities on the homepage, you can use a heat map to figure out which functionalities are used and which users ignore. If certain functionalities are ignored, it can be safely removed, making way for other functionalities or just making room for other kinds of information you may think it's helpful.

Either way, a heat map, can help you improve your website overall, increasing user productivity and conversions.

Cristian I tried to set up a heat map and tried lots of different plugins but I just couldn't get anything to work. Or maybe it was working and I didn't know where to activate it or get it going. I just gave up after a while. Yes a heat map is on my to do list and it has been for a while. I was going to leave it there for another few months.

I would love to get some feedback from you in the near future about your experience with Crazy Egg, maybe then I'll take it off my to do list and try again!

Sure thing. Maybe I'll write an article or a tutorial with my experience as well as some tips and ticks.

Yes please Cristian, I would find that really helpful. If I do get a free trial using something I like to have it all quite figured out very quickly so that I make full use of the free trial. There have been a few occasions I've signed up for a free trial of something and spent like the whole 30 days figuring out how to set it up! Then by the time I can start using it my trial is up,

I have used both Crazyegg and few other analytics sites. I also used Google analytics heatmap. I wanted to check it out on the affiliate site I own. I found that most of the settings of that are good enough to see where people are clicking. I think this way we can learn more about the people on our site. And that can save a lot of money on testing position of ad clicks.
