How do you find clients on Linkedin?

Most of us are on LinkedIn, and a lot of us are only there for marketing purposes. I know that when I was on LinkedIn every day it was fun, but there was no instant gratification from getting sign ups because they were rare.

Now was I doing something wrong or am I just in a saturated LinkedIn niche where everyone pushes the same thing? I'm not 100% sure to be honest. I did all the right things, I built up connections and messaged all of them once they connected with me. I followed up with anyone who responded just to show I wasn't an automated system. But for every 1,000 people that I connected to, I probably had 1 sign up. And I'm sure if you have software to build connections and message them you'll be able to automate this a bit, but I haven't found anything that worked well.

I'm in the SEO, Web Design and Online Marketing niche and whenever I post something I see that there are a few hundred other people doing the same methods I am. I have a feeling that I'm just getting flooded out because of all the competition on there.

I've played around with the PPC platform on LinkedIn but found it was pretty pricey and stopped because it wasn't pulling in the amount of clients to make it worth continuing How do you find clients on Linkedin?

So how do you generate sales or leads using LinkedIn? I'm really curious and I want to get back into it now that it was bought out by Microsoft. I think they're going to tweak a few things and hopefully they do it in a good way so that all the pages aren't just flooded How do you find clients on Linkedin?

Any information to help me out is greatly appreciated How do you find clients on Linkedin?

Thanks,

Razzy

As in almost all social networks you have to engage with targeted customers (start by appreciating their shared content, and from curiosity they will check your profile - so, it's very important to create a short by awesome profile where to be very easy to identify your services & skills).

yeah, I understand that. I just don't have the time so I've been looking for a VA that can do it all for me lol.

My profile is pretty optimized. I treated it like I would a business card. I set it up to show exactly what I can do and also showed my awards and previous jobs.

I think I just need to be more active How do you find clients on Linkedin?

Well if I connect with people in the same profession I'll never get a client lol.

"Hey Jim! I know you do the same thing as I do, but you should pay me for my services, ok?"

I don't think that will work well lol How do you find clients on Linkedin?

Wrong! You'll get resellers or at least other freelancers or even companies that will outsource their work to you... ;)

I personally try to stay away from people like you Razzy, lol! Seriously, I don't connect with people that I think just want to sell me something or with people that just spam my feed with crap.

I'm not saying you may be spammy, far from it, but I try to keep my LinkdeIn clean, and it's not just me, I've very careful on who I'm adding and who I'm accepting. I'm looking for people in my own niche that had similar jobs at similar agencies as I do and I only stay connected with them if I consider they have something worth saying from time to time.

Until now, I really think LinkedIn works for me, I mean I got a lot of jobs offers, real good one, which I refused, but its pretty nice to have people asking you and not the other way around.

Lmao no offense taken Cristian How do you find clients on Linkedin?

I'm in the process of adding 100 more people today to see if I can get a client How do you find clients on Linkedin?

Earlier today I messaged 100 people in 3 different group messages saying something like
Hey there, I haven't been too active on LinkedIn lately because we had a few large clients need all the bells and whistles for their jobs. But now I'm back for a little while How do you find clients on Linkedin? If you need any help with your website in terms of design and marketing, just shoot me a message and we can go over everything

I haven't logged back in to see if I've gotten any responses, hopefully they all open their check books and want to pay me to do stuff How do you find clients on Linkedin?

Why aren't you making more personal? That message seems so...standard.
I would love for someone to actually look at my profile to understand what I'm all about and contact me in a personal way. For example, maybe you'll have an actual look at my website and tell me some real problems you can help me improve.

I always found that a personal approach is more difficult and you can do a lot of people, but overall people actually respond and in the end you are making a lot more "potential clients".

Yeah, I see what you're saying. I was just testing out grouping people together and sending out one message. I put 30 to 35 people in a group and sent out that message, that's why I couldn't personalize it much How do you find clients on Linkedin?

I do personalize my one on one messages and those seem to do much better, like you said. It's more personal and I'm talking to them about their own website so they know I've looked it over How do you find clients on Linkedin?

Right now I'm doing a lot of testing to see what works best. But right now it seems that the personalized one on one messages are working better than the bulk group messaging How do you find clients on Linkedin?

I think it is tricky like you say. I have the same problem in that I think you need to really connect with people in a personal way, like Mike said. I really don't think those messages that say "Thanks for connecting with me" work at all. Firstly I don't think being grateful for having a connection looks good but also because that is what everyone is doing. I hate those automated inbox messages. I shared about the fact that the only inbox messages I ever get on Twitter are spam. It is so bad I hardly ever even open my Twitter inbox messages.

I think a better way would be to connect with other people on their profiles, comment on the content that they have shared and just connect in a friendly way. Of course like you said this takes time and effort, which is a royal pain in the ass.

Have you considered starting a LinkedIn group? I've joined a few and for some reason with some of them I get email messages! I'm not really interested in those either and just delete them and unsubscribe... but I would think maybe if you start a group on LinkedIn that might help? I don't really know because I have not found much success with LinkedIn. I've had a few scam private messages, some people from China inboxing me trying to sell me stuff... and yeah that is it.

I have started a LinkedIn group but there are so many to compete with that it takes forever to gain any momentum. I mean if I had a few hours a day of free time I would definitely get back into it and destroy LinkedIn in hopes that I would get a few clients, but my current work load doesn't allow it How do you find clients on Linkedin?

Yeah Razzy I know exactly how you feel. Plus I just recently had a knock with my business in the form of my nearly 3 year old deciding he is a big boy and he does NOT nap anymore during the day. I get the majority of my work done in the morning while they are in playschool but we got into a nice rythm where we got home, had lunch and immediately my son would go sleep for about 2 hours and my daughter would entertain herself doing art.

I had no idea how much work I actually got done in those 1-2 hours a day... until those hours were taken away LOL

Now I can't seem to get anything done anymore.
