Building an email list isn't easy. What do you think?

So many people get into websites because they want to make millions online and one of the big things people never do properly is build a quality email list. I think people don't build quality lists because they're afraid of being seen as an email spammer and want to avoid that at all costs.

Don't be afraid of email marketing!

If you do it the right way it will reward you very handsomely in the long run. You can't just put up a subscribe form and think you're going to get 1,000 sign ups per day without doing a good amount of work. You'll need to be out there marketing your website day and night in order to get all those sign ups. Bust your ass in the beginning and once you have a good list you will begin to see the benefits of you working 10+ hours a day just trying to get your website in front of people Building an email list isn

I highly suggest adding a pop up that asks users to subscribe in order to increase your conversions. Normally people won't look for your newsletter signup so if you drop it right in front of them when they're on your site, you'll get more sign ups than if they looked around for it Building an email list isn

Don't rush it!

So many times I've heard people bad mouth sign up forms and it's because they rushed it. Now usually they won't admit that they started to get into the blackhat methods of getting emails, but in time they will tell you or at least slip up lol Building an email list isn Don't be tempted by the list generators that will give you 1,000s of emails a day. Do it yourself and keep everything under control so that your list is super high quality and you don't have to worry about sending out a newsletter. I've actually heard of a few website owners deactivate the welcome email and then they had a script submit thousands of emails into their mailchimp form in order to get them all in one system. They somehow bypassed the double opt in and blasted out hundreds of thousands of emails a few days later. Their accounts were quickly banned, but that doesn't stop them from making more accounts on other websites and doing the same thing.

Don't be a spammer lol.

Thanks,

Razzy

Well, from my understanding it is quite hard. Usually it's so hard that companies are in the business of buying, and selling email addresses. Before you signup to any website make sure you're absolutely certain that the website doesn't sell your email address. I can not tell you how many times I have signed up to a website, and then had my email sold to a third party. That business practice is a bit shady in my eyes. However, you could always just opt for a little HTML on the page that says "Enter your email to be added to our newsletter, and updates!". If your website users are willing then they will signup and actually want to know what you're selling, or what to know what the latest news is.

It's not necessarily hard, it just takes a long time to build a quality list if you don't have much traffic. This is why people get sucked into buying lists or generating false lists by adding scraped emails into their own forms.

One of the things that really annoys me is when I have someone sign up and then unsubscribe after the first email I send out a week later. It's not like they signed up because they wanted to be nice, they knew they were going to get emails from me and then they bail after the first one gets sent out Building an email list isn

I don't think it hard exactly. I think there is a way to do it and a way not to do it.

Like you mentioned in your post a lot of people have unrealistic expectations of working online and also about email marketing. There are so many so called gurus out there (probably mostly scammers lol) that claim you can build your list of "red hot" buyers easily and fast by using their methods when in fact I can't see that ever happening.

As with most things in life email marketing takes work and it takes time to build up your list. My lists are building slowly but steadily and if I keep on like this I will have some really awesome quality leads in the future.

The best list I ever created was by offering monthly services. I used to offer daily proxy lists that users could buy monthly or yearly. Even if client stop buying the lists I would not delete that email, but save it. Almost all of them were interested in online marketing or very opened to online services like social media promotion or SEO.

So yeah, that's a cool technique idea, make people offer your email for certain services and create lists depending on the area of interest of the client. Pretty cool even though it's a little unethical, but the way I see it: You gotta break some eggs of you want to make an omelette.

I agree that often email marketing is considered to be similar to email spamming. This is not the case if it is done wisely and properly. Email marketing is actually an effective online marketing method that could help you keep in touch with clients, as well as give a subtle reminder to prospective ones about anything you may be offering at the time, or a special event, or something noteworthy. The key is to avoid sending emails very often. One should also compose the emails wisely, with an interesting title that can encourage the recipient to open the email rather than deleting it immediately.

I built my email lists from the people who placed comments on my blog entries. My list does not even have 200 emails. It is really difficult to build a list. You can, of course, acquire the list from other sources. For instance, you can find people offering you email list for a certain price. However, the problem with such list is you never know whether the people on the list are genuinely interested in your products.

Building an Email list is not easily and certainly might not help if list is not for people in that niche. That's why buying Email list is not the way to go,some people on bought Email list are mere bots and some are not just interested in the products.I think taking time to build a list over time will suffice it than rushing to have a list which would be helpful.

Email marketing is not that easy anymore since the tendency of the receiver is to tag the email as spam when they don’t recognize the sender and that the subject is not interesting. That’s why you need to be extra creative when building an email listing. Getting subscribers is not easy and you have to exert effort in finding email addresses to where you can send your pitch.
