The effect of an ad posted on a niche related website [vs] an ad posted on a non related website.

Whenever someone sets up a website they usually want to get a flood of traffic to it so they can make a bunch of money. People always get drawn to paid advertising on PPC platforms and banner advertising on websites with a bunch of traffic since the website owner can capitalize off of those ad placements.

Putting your ad just anywhere you can find won't end well because you'll be wasting your money. Basically you'll be bundling your money up and throwing it into a fire pit while you cry The effect of an ad posted on a niche related website [vs] an ad posted on a non related website. So to avoid that, you'll need to advertise on niche related websites. This is because no one wants to watch you cry, but really it's because if you get your ad on a niche related website you'll have a huge spike in conversions compared to if you had an ad on a non related website.

Just think of it, if you loved snowboarding or skiing and went on your favorite winter sports blog and saw an ad for knitting tools, would you click through and purchase? Probably not. Now I'm not saying that the ad won't pull in some sales, because I've seen gramdas go skiing and I'm sure some of them like knitting. But the likely hood of actually breaking even on your ad placement is slim to none.

Getting your website up and running is just the tip of the iceberg. The parts you don't see are all the SEO campaigns, advertising, traffic and sales funnels behind the scenes which make a company great. Take your time when looking for the perfect ad placement and never jump the gun on this because you could be wasting your money. Do your due diligence and check traffic sources using moz, spyfu, semrush and any other source you can. If you're spending money on an ad placement, be sure it's going to convert well The effect of an ad posted on a niche related website [vs] an ad posted on a non related website.

Targeted traffic is everything, it doesn't matter if it comes from PPC campaigns or search engines, your traffic MUST BE niche related and interested in your content or your products.

Otherwise, you'll just not convert, even if you get some organic traffic if most of the users will bounce in the first seconds Google will figure out that the content you are offering is insufficient or not related to what the user wanted and expected to see on your websites, therefore in time you won't get organic traffic anymore and you positions will ever drop.

Yes Cristian, having targeted ads is essential.. I have been having people approach me with wanting to guest post on my mommy blog but with totally unrelated topics and I have had to turn them away. I just can't post unrelated things to my audience!

And like you say what about conversions? You may get the traffic but will you get the conversions? Not likely at all!

Brilliant topic Razzy and I think so many people underestimate the reasoning behind this. I have had a lot of people contact me and ask me to publish their guest posts on my website but it has nothing to do with my readers and I think it will just tick my readers off if I publish something completely unrelated that they most likely have no interest in.

If I went to a snowboarding website and I saw an ad for knitting I would be a little confused, it would really stick out like a sore thumb. It just doesn't live there. And you know what I love knitting and I would love to snowboard but I doubt I would be clicking through to a knitting website when I am looking for snowboarding information!

This reminds me of my first experience in guest blogging. Since pets is my passion so I would even read my posts several times after posting. I have noticed that there were ads, take note that I was a greenhorn at the time. And the ads were all about pets. It didn’t occur to me that it should be like that – advertisements on the blog should be directly related to the niche. And now I know it already lol.

In order to maximize revenue from your website, you need related ads and the ads need to be blended with the contents. let me illustrate this, you have a website about gaming, if the ads you insert on your website are on gaming niche, your visitors might check the ads and buy the product. You earn from ad clicks as well as product sales. Having related ads is alos not enough to make money, your ads need to be blended with the contents. Blending with contents means your ads should be inside your article body. If the ads are inside the body and it the ads match with the content, there will be a high conversion rate.
