As many of you know, I run an SEO and Online Marketing company that can do anything for our clients from registering new domain names to pulling in profits from the search engines. Our main goals are Registration --> Design --> Make Money. I have had plenty of bigger clients over the years paying me more than I could have imagined for the type of work I consider easy since I've been doing it so long, but that doesn't mean I can forget about the small guys.

Why shouldn't you forget about the tiny local companies? Because they are more grateful when you end up helping them out The importance of getting local clients for your positive reputation. Yes, I fully agree with you on this. And I believe that small companies need more help than big ones actually. And they tend to be more grateful for the assistance since they often do not understand how to go about online stuff. And, another thing that is really important here - there are actually many more small and medium sized firms, than large ones. So in reality there is more potential is you try to target the small ones right?

Oh yes great point there EliteWriter... there are a lot more little fish and only a few big fish. Plus everyone will be trying to get the business from the big fish and not paying so much attention to the little guys.

Razzy I couldn't agree with you more here. The thing is that the little local guys often need the help more than the bigger corporations and like you say if you make a massive impact on their business so that they have a huge increase in sales they will be so much more grateful than another business may be.

We all know how hard it is to get positive reviews, people are so much more likely to complain when they are upset and feel let down than to give a positive review when you have done a good job.

The smaller guys will be much more likely to give a glowing review and share what you did for them than the bigger guys!

If the client is open-minded I prefer small local companies any time over big corporations! Big business move slow, makes slow decisions and you can't try anything radical that my rock the boat. But with small companies, if the client approves, the sky is the limit! They have a lot of room to move around and if successful you can earn a lot of money, not to mention the fact that you could even become a partner in these small businesses if you are the one that gets things up and running.

I think it is a good idea to build up your reputation from local clients because they are easier to convince about your good business practices. I know that online buyers are not much concerned with the service and their main concern is the product’s quality. But for local clients they have the tendency to back you up in terms of good comments. Building a good reputation is not an easy task because it involves more of the rapport and good business relationship to your clients.
