Yahoo LinkedIn Dropbox all hacked?

I just logged into my online banking and I got a message stating that Yahoo, LinkedIn and Dropbox have all been hacked.

So this is the first I heard about it, so I went and did a quick online search and there are loads of articles online about this breach but they are not new articles.

Some of them state that Tumblr was also hacked with another website listing a whole stack of websites that were hacked and saying it was all the same gang.

I wonder why my bank now decides to make me aware of a hack that apparently happened months ago when it seems like this is old news? Well except that I can't remember hearing about it so it is new news to me.

What do you know about these hacks?

I do remember something about Dropbox a couple of months ago. But nothing about LinkedIn or Yahoo.
First of all, Yahoo is having problems for years now and I really don't care about this company anymore although Yahoo was my first email service I ever used and I used Yahoo Messenger for years before Facebook was a thing.

I'm really sad about dropbox being hacked, it needed to have absolute protection against hacking since people trust their services with very important files an maybe sensitive data.

Yes I've got loads of stuff saved on Dropbox, but fortunately no seriously sensitive data. Honestly I have never used Yahoo for anything,so they are not a concern for me at all.

But yeah Dropbox will need to ensure everything is secure.

What the heck is going on here Lynne? All of these hacks are happening to often it seems like they are increasing all over the internet. If you have any of these accounts the best thing for you to do is to change your password as soon as possible. If you have any funds or private information they could be in the works of stealing all of that from the site. These hacks are getting out of control in my opinion. We need to better safe guard ourselves when we use the internet. The age of the cyber attacks is here guys and we need to be prepared. Why does it always seem like a government conspiracy when these things happen? We are not notified until months after? Talk about 0 communication to the client. I understand that they do not want to cause a panic but don't they want the users to change passwords and block themselves from potential harm? If they do care about us they sure do not show it in a way that makes me feel comfortable doing business with them. Great topic thank you for sharing!

Yeah Jkeyz2 but I think this is the way of the future. Why put yourself at risk heading out to rob people in the street and break into their homes when you can sit in the comfort of your own home right?

It is sad but I think that hackers and online thieves and con artists will just be flocking more and more to the internet.

If you are wondering on the delayed reaction of your bank on the issue, my guess is that your bank is not so serious with those issues of hacking and spamming. When my husband received a spam email that purportedly came from our bank, he sent it to the bank’s online office to specify that it was a click bait which means another site is using the bank’s ad to get traffic. What do you know, the bank replied with the usual be careful with your account, change your password, etc. Obviously the receiver did not even read the message of my husband about the clickbait.
