Increase CTR & Sales on a Marketplace.

Increase CTR & Sales on a Marketplace.

Hello Freelancers,

We all know that CTR and proper use of Power Words will help you to increase your sales, signups and leads. We know it will help you to build your list and all that.

However, when it comes to marketplaces. SEOClerks for instance.

- Do you think it's equally important on a marketplace too?

I mean, if you create a new service here on SEOClerks you'll quickly see that you get anything between 100 and 1000 views on your services. Within a few hours. - But are these statistics anything to take into consideration? - Most of the services will get 0 sales during these hours. I've checked my own services I've had during my time here and I've checked other services too, and even the hottest services you can literally think of, have had the same results in the beginning. At least most of them.

So, do you think you can increase your chances by changing anything in them, for starters I mean. - I obviously know that you can increase your chances in general, so this topic is not about that.

I'm mainly talking about the first few hours. These 100-1000 views you will get. Do you think you can increase the chances of making sales from these views? - Or, are those views most likely "bot" views?

I've noticed that when I have added new services here I have had a huge amount of views initially. I think that is because as a new service firstly it shows at the top of the category for a little while and it also shows as a new service. Anyone that is following me also gets informed I have a new service up. There is always interest in something new so I think a lot of people come to just have a look out of curiosity.

I am sure that there is a lot you can do to make your service appealing and make sales within that initial boost of views and of course if you start making sales quickly that will mean that your service is off to a good start.

I totally get your point Lynne and I do agree with you. At least on most things. However, when it comes to all these views, I'm actually pretty sure it's due to bots. You can try it out for yourself too. Create whatever new service you want and you'll "instantly" see 500 views within a few seconds.. And that doesn't really make sense to me.

Yes, I think it is equally important because people would search for services and if you have power keywords, then you will rank higher in the specific keyword and therefore get more views for your service which leads to more sales.

Thank you MasterA. I do think that keywords are important, and descriptions are probably way more important than the keywords. However, if you create a new service, with literally any random title you can come up with, you'll see an instant boost of ~500 views for that specific service. - Does that look normal to you?

I think views alone often don't cut it. And that's something we have to learn about the marketplace. Here people have to be interested in what you're about to offer. This way you can see that it depends on the gig offering. And also the peoples inclination to pay for such service. And that's why i think you have to do some A/B experiments on the gig page. I think marketplace traffic and real buyers are complicated thing. So you have to work a bit harder to manage those things.
