Why posting longer content is always better than shorter.

When it comes to blogging there is not specific number count that you can go with that will help you out in the long run. Most people will tell you that anything under 500 words isn't going to do you very well because you didn't put your heart into the content. But it's not really about you not putting your heart into a 500 word or less article, it's that you can't optimize it or get your point across as easily when typing something that short. If your website is suppose to be extremely informative, don't you think there should be articles on there that are much longer?

Posting Short Content:
Some marketers have been experimenting with short articles and seeing if they will rank well on the SERPs. These guys are testing out articles that are roughly 300 words and optimized. Now you can't get much of a point across with 300 words, but they're doing their best lol. They do everything you need to do within the website such as interlinking and publishing their articles so they can be indexed, but is that enough to outrank a longer article about the same topic?

Posting Longer Content:
When writing longer content that is 1,000+ words you can always get more information in there compared to the 300 word articles, for obvious reasons. The 300 word articles can be extended with images to seem longer, but so can the 1,000+ word articles. With the longer articles you can get more images in there, which means more image alt tags to help with your on page optimization. Whenever I'm posting a long article covering a specific topic I will always see better results opposed to posting a short and sweet article. Maybe it's because my articles are written for the user in mind and not optimized to hell for the search engines. Maybe the search engines just like my writing better when I stretch everything out instead of use bullet points.

Content Length in General:
The length of content is every changing when it comes to SEO and right now we're seeing that anything under 500 words isn't doing as well as something that is 1,500 words. There's no set number of words that is the golden number so we can't always be 100% accurate when covering this topic. But to be safe, I would never go under 650 just in case the numbers get changed in the future Why posting longer content is always better than shorter.

Hiring Writers:
If you're a bad writer, or you just don't have the time to do the articles yourself, you can always hire a writer. There are plenty of article writers here or at https://www.wordclerks.com that can help you out with all your writing needs. I've hired plenty of writers on both platforms and I haven't been upset with the work. Just do your research and ask for examples prior to working with anyone. If they can't provide examples, move on to the next writer who can.

Never Spin Content:
Spinning content is when you scrape together a bunch of articles and put it into a piece of software that will rip these articles apart to make dozens of new articles. Spun content does not really work anymore because it's never written well, even if someone claims it is, and it just hurts your rankings if you get caught doing it. Spun content may have worked 10 years ago, but today it just makes you look bad, even if it's on a tier 1 page Why posting longer content is always better than shorter. Try to avoid spun content and if a service provider offers it as a part of their SEO or article marketing, I would try to send them unique content for the job.

Write In Your Own Style:
When you're writing in your own style you're adding your personality into your writing. And if you're writing a long article covering something you're passionate about, your emotions will be more evident within it. So many people become robots when writing and they forget about their readers. No one wants to read an article and think "Was this written by a person or robocop?" lol Why posting longer content is always better than shorter. I have my own style, but I've been writing for so long that it's on a more professional side but you'll notice my overuse of emojis and LOL's Why posting longer content is always better than shorter. <--- Case and Point

In conclusion, you should always focus on writing articles that are longer and more detailed opposed to the shorter 200 to 300 word articles that look like more like a tweet. If you can get your point across in 500 words but it sounds better in 1,500, write the 1,500 word article so you don't have readers scratching their heads with dozens of questions Why posting longer content is always better than shorter.

Hello Razzy
Have a wonderful day.

Thanks for the beautyful write about article. Currently now a days I have been watched 300 words or 500 words or 750 words or a 1000 words articles. The articles should need to be unique in this world. At first you need to select some keywords. Now you have to start write by those keywords. You can use the keyword once for every 100 words. Keyword based article will give you more traffic for the life time. All over you can use one keyword 3 times within 500 words and 5 times within 1000 words. Search engine show result basically keyword based.

Thanks
Centurion

I have in the past written articles for people, I remember once someone asking me for a 300 word article and I really did struggle to get my point across in that article without it being too quick. When I write an article I like to be informative, like to get my point across as best I can without having to worry that I went over a certain word count. You can never get your point across if you are limited I do not feel and no one wants to read an article that has been rushed just to get to the point with hardly any information. Longer articles are always better than shorter.

Great post Razzy as always , I may self do write long content some times it is hard and I have recently had few writers for me on here. And in need of more soon as I am wanting me blogs to have rich content. I do like reading your post and great ideas you offer and suggestions . I do think I need to work more on my content I do think yoast helps with this in a way on wordpress. As it lets you know if you need more words and if the keyword is mentioned to much also the content its self with the readability option helps you make sure its just right. Just abit ago I just wrote over 800 words for my new blog which I am working on and do hope I can help it reach its potential .

Long contents are not always better. Consider this. You have 1500 word articles on your website. You get over 100 visitors every day. Do you think everyone is reading the entire 1500 words. Long contents will also increase back links. On the internet, people tend to read short contents rather than long contents.

Good article!

I'm going to start off with spun content. I never have and never will be a fan of it. The idea that a machine can gather several articles only to respin them sounds nice. But creates robotic and unrealistic text over time.

Regarding long vs. short articles, in my opinion, it depends on the quality of the writer. If you have (or are) a writer that understands how to produce quality articles for both SEO and capturing the reader, I don't think lengthy articles will always be best. Descriptive articles are what I look for. However, I will personally say from a reader's perspective, the longer the article is, the less likely it is to capture my attention. I do have a fairly decent attention span, however, I'm not interested in reading long articles about a specific topic, no matter the subject. I look for articles that are direct to the point and have keywords that attract me and keep my interest.

Overall nice post, but I don't think longer is always better.

Pop-marketer seth godin made his career out of encouraging readers to do god work and get noticed. Seth is famous for his short, daily blog posts on whatever topic steikes him. Measured by how much his posts are shared and read, seth's short content is incredibly successful. One of seth's recent posts measures just 57 words, not including the headline. That tiny post got 32 retweets and 50 likes on twitter. Plus another 199 likes between google plus and facebook as well as 206 linkedin shares. Not a bad result for this very short content. Why posting longer content is always better than shorter.

With the size of the content, I agree that 500 words or less is short so I would go for a moderate length of maybe 600 to 900 words only. Too long an article is not good for me since I have a short attention span. To be honest, I rarely read long blogs, those with more than 1,000 words because I find it too time consuming. With a moderately sized blog of 800 words, I would devour it entirely and probably enjoy if it comes with relevant pictures.
