Is it good to take supplements to boost your muscles and fitness??

I just started to go to the gym,and actually I'm a BIT thin...and I want to build up muscles a bit faster.so I thought of taking a supplement/protein.
But some people say that it is not good to take those,if you start taking them and when you stop them, you loose weight and becomes even thin....and there are other side effects too.
is this true??

Thank you.

Many runners and athletes ingest whey protein. It's clean and whatever the body doesn't use it passes. Which means it won't convert to fat. The only supplements I use are multivitamins and I drink a green shake every morning. These supplements that are foreign to the body, but promises great results, I don't trust. If it's foreign, then my body may have a long term negative effect towards them.

I am not sure how true that may be however I can not say that taking supplements/protein over a long period of time would be good for you. Looking at your diet and what you eat and maybe eating differently to bulk yourself up a bit would be a good idea. It's about eating the right kinds of foods such as making sure you have plenty of vegetables and fruit in your diet but also making sure that you have the meat and the eggs and dairy in your diet as well.

I would definitely take a look at the diet side of things first before opting for supplements.

Supplements are great to take but you have to first get your doctor to check you out first, then recommend what you should take.. My advice is that you take your multivitamins first, build up your resistance and when you reach a certain level in the gym then you can take those pre and post workout supplements.. Also a proper food diet and lots of water will help to..

There are good as long as they are recommended by a certified physician or a doctor, but it still might have some long term side effects if you take it for a long time, because all artificial products will have certain additional affects on the body, so why don't you try natural ways to boost up your body, i know that natural ways might take some time to yield results but at least you will be sure that its 100 % safe.

I personally do not prefer taking any supplements as I am not sure they are really safe and good for our health. I'd prefer to work on more natural ways, such as finding the workout that really helps or having healthy and suitable diet. Perhaps you can search online or consult any personal trainers, they might know this better.

My body has been aching alot lately. I have been told I should take supplements but I always forget. I'm not trying to bulk up but some added muscle won't hurt. After reading through this I have to get on this task as soon as possible. Don't want my body to completely fall apart.

It is good only if your doctor says that you need it, you can not take supplements without the opinion of your doctor, that is my advice dude, some people need the supplements, but other ones take it because they think that it will make you gain muscle fast, but it is not true, you have to workout your body and if you keep thin, I would recommend you to go to your doctor and comment your problem to him

Protein shakes are good if you are not getting enough protein from your daily meals, but it's quite expensive really. Steroids on the other hand, are illegal for most people and sometimes are looked down upon when it comes to bodybuilding. I suggest just taking in a lot of eggs, eggs are a great source of protein and it works like a charm for me as long as you take control of your cholesterol levels.

Steroids are kind of an iffy subject, depending on the area. Most popular bodybuilders you see absolutely are not "natural." I'd dare to say that all of them are taking some sort of steroidal supplement or human growth hormone. The human body has its limits, and they can only be broken through the use of anabolic steroids. They're looked down upon when used in sports, as they are considered an advantage, but in bodybuilding they are pretty much necessary. When it is all about aesthetics, it doesn't really matter if they enhance performance or not.

Steroids are illegal and i don't recommend any of them, about taking supplement/protein I don't agree because this will affect you in time. If you want to built your body muscle and resist in time you must do it naturally, working hard is the only way. If you work hard, your muscle will grow and you will be satisfied and have no regrets. The beginning is very hard, but after few weeks when you will see an improvement you will desire even more and the work out will not be that hard anymore.

I think the best way to boost your muscles is through lots of exercises and a healthy diet for example instead of using supplements use natural proteins like eggs, meats, ... and see it will take some time but it is much healthier than pills.

Yes, uts good to take supplements because your body will be burning more nutrients. And with your current status, eating is not your best source of nutrition because your also cutting your intake.

No. Absolutely not. If it is not in a food form like a protein shake, then it is tantamount to cheating. I run marathon races and I know how grueling training for races are. The thought that someone is taking a supplement (however innocent it is), is just wrong. This is why so many athletes (example Marion Jones) got disgraced and stripped of Olympic medals because someone offered her something which she was thought was a supplement or strength booster. Just stay away from those things.

Boosting muscle and fitness needed only 2 things - diet and exercise. Eating good food and doing exercise regularly will make you fit and healthy. But if you want bigger muscles then you eat more and do exercise more particularly in lifting weights. Food supplements here are funny because their blurbs say so many things but at the bottom of the label, there is a disclaimer that says "No Approved Therapeutic Claims." Need I say more on this? That disclaimer on the label is required by the Food and Drug Authority here simply because those supplements did not pass any government test and could not produce any proof of their product's benefits.

If I were in your position, which I was back when I had my own home gym, I would not depend on supplements all too much. The fact is that there are so many supplements and pre-workout formulas out there these days, that some are actually going to be doing you more harm than good. At best, you're going to be taking something that might not even do anything besides take money out of your pocket.

The only thing that anyone needs to really do in order to get fit is exercise and then give your body what it needs to fuel itself. Protein supplements are always fine since they are simply, well...protein. It is the most essential factor when it comes to building muscles. A lot of the junk that they add to many pre-workout formulas and such has only become popular due to word of mouth and rarely have any proper scientific backing or proof. Unless you're aiming to be a professional body builder, there aren't all that many things you need in your system to remain fit and healthy.

Supplements are mostly optional are are only used depending on the user's state.

Protein shakes are useful because people find it hard to physically consume high protein amounts and gives you more flexibility to your diet.

Multivitamins though you should skip them I think they're not worth it(At least I think)
I'd recommend a good fish oil supplement, Vitamin D if you don't get exposed to the sun a lot, and some magnesium.

Contrary to a lot of people's beliefs, I think it all depends on you. I believe that you can take supplements as long as you know the risks and you know how to take them right. A lot of supplements out there can turn out to be very harmful to you if you didn't know how to use them. It's always about following the instructions and doing your homework first before actually trying the real thing.

In my point of view taking supplements just to boost muscles and fitness is not a good idea. Aside from it contains chemicals, it is too expensive to buy with. Only business men benefit from those supplements. It may also trigger heart attack especially for those who have heart problems. Instead of taking supplements we should do it in a natural way like exercise and proper way of food.

I don't think it would be a good idea. Actually when you take some extra protein that is not natural but synthetic, you must be attacking your kidneys. Remember, those are some kind of filters, so if you take too much protein, an excess can deposit on your kidneys and make you insufficient with the time. The proper way is to calculate how much you can increase, according to your desire weight, then choose the right food that will give you what you need, and then the exercise will define those muscles.

I think it all encompassing, get to the gym and add supplements to it .this supplements most times are energizers and boosters. They're what the name implies supplements, and they can't take the place of a natural or normal process of eating good food, exercising and visiting the gym.

We can also add them to enhance our system but not to rely solely on them.

Relate with your gym instructor on ways you can get better in the fitness program that you're following. Taking supplements might not solve the issue, but taking some type of food is a great way to go about. So, speak with your gym instructor on that matter.

Agree with you. Right now, there's this fitness fever, where everybody wants to gain muscles in a week. There are a lot of supplements there, that are causing diseases to healthy people, especially young one. What about the regular/natural way to increase organic proteins, to gain muscles through proper diet habits and exercises? The worst thing about this, is that sometimes even instructors sell this supplements and earn money by getting people sick at gym.

This is one thing that I was trying to say as we get to see that the urge to get muscles is taking over lots of people. I know that there are lots of food that are out there that is going to help, but taking some drugs ain't the best as far as I am concerned.

Personally, I have two very dear friends that went into that crazy spiral. One, was accepting some body shots to gain muscles, and drinking and special supplement. Her skin began to get rashes and coming off like a snake. The other one, was taking aminoacyd pills that increased her heart rate so fast, she almost got a heart attack. In both cases, their trainers where behind those special recommendations, honestly that's a shame as a trainer.

For some it is good but for others is not. If you think your body needs it for the developing and progress of your muscles so be it but if you can workout without it then that is more better because nothing bad as normal and proper diet.

Yes, you have to be careful about sports nutrition supplements because they have the opposite effect. To gain muscle mass, you need to create a caloric surplus: consume more than you spend. Gainers contain many calories, but they mostly consist of simple carbohydrates, so if used frequently, they can increase fat tissue rather than muscle growth. In general, I advise you to discuss this with a personal trainer, who will be guided by your body structure, health, and the real possibility of gaining mass. This way will allow you to see the desired numbers on the scales faster.

How about steroid drugs? It seems to me that it is difficult to find something more effective than steroids, with which you can easily lose weight and also gain muscle mass. There are quite a lot of online stores now, but I can advise you etalaze steroids to buy quality drugs and not worry about it. So, be sure to check it out.
