OPENING A. PAYPAL ACCOUNT

I work in Africa where pay pal is not allowed, but some online business require only pay pal as a means of payment.
Are there ways I can open a pay pal account in my country?

A friend writer who is in the same situation as yours had his Paypal account opened by a relative who resides in the US. He withdraws his online earnings to that Paypal account. For the withdrawal of money, his relative withdraws the money for him and sends it to his bank account. But that arrangement is messy because there is a fee that the bank charges. Besides, you have to rely on the trust of your relative since he has the full control of your Paypal account.

Corzhens,
This is a good suggestion, I think. The fees are problematic, to be sure, and if you are only making small amounts with your freelancing efforts, then the fees can be daunting and mess up your profits, obviously. There must be other payment mechanisms out there. I have not yet run into this issue since I live in America, and, therefore, Pay Pal is the most convenient way for me to receive payments.

I doubt that you can. If paypal is not allowed in your country I don't think they are suddenly going to let you do so. IF you know someone in your area who has a paypal account you could ask them how they did it. My guess is if you go directly to paypal they will tell you what you already know.

Well, I'm an American who lives and studies abroad. Like yourself, I'm also in Africa. I don't know specifically where you are, but here in South Africa, PayPal is allowed. It's linked to the local banking institutions within the country as well! I suggest you try Payza. Like I said, I don't know where you are exactly, but I do know Payza is accepted in over 190 countries. So it's worth a shot!

Hope that helps.

I will tell you my story. I am from Nepal. You can open a paypal in Nepal, but you cannot receive payments in your paypal account in Nepal. I asked paypal to help me. Paypal sent me an advice, open a paypal account in the country where it works, if you have someone living there have their address. Now you can use paypal. However, make sure to ask the paypal before you do this.
However, withdrawal will be a problem because you cannot associate your real bank account with this paypal account. You can send and receive payments, however.

An interesting tip! It is a great pity that Paypal does not accept users from certain countries. I can not understand why!

Thankfully, in my country Paypal is released, as I use their service quite frequently to receive and make payments.

I don't think that you should create one even if there are ways to do so, since it appears your country doesn't allow it, I believe if you create it using tricks there will be problems later on, my friend's account was deleted because he didn't create it using the normal protocol and he lost about $300, he was lucky that he just get $500 from that account or else he would have lost $800, when he asked the support team they said that it was because that account was illegally created.

This really is a problem. I believe that Paypal really is very rigid in its standards, which by the way is very good. However, I think they should release the register in other countries.

if you're a Nigerian you can open a PayPal account, because I have one but the snag is that you can't receive money from it but you can receive your payment from freelancing sites and then use it for online purchases or else you use any developed countries phone and address to open one that's if it possible.

Using a developed countries phone and address to open one like you said, isn't it risky? Have you tired it out before?

Probably depends on your location. Have you tried changing your location to a different one but within the same country? Like Jonathan said, Paypal is allowed on his location so you can probably ask his location and put that on your account - but if you can't register, try to ask someone or a friend to register there in behalf of you and you can always change the password anytime. Hope that helps.

There does not seem to be any way for the paypal account to work out properly in this question. You can see that payoneer seems to be open for you. Also there is also payeer is another option. You may also want to make use of the other options like payza. So considering paypal being out, you don't have much options. So payoneer is the only option for now.

Where in Africa are you located at? If you're in South Africa, you can open a PayPal account. Check out this link: Open PayPal account in South Africa

If that doesn't work, I wouldn't really suggest trying to trick PayPal into fake changing your country or location since they might try and ban you. The only other option that you have then left is to use another payment processing option. Good luck OPENING A. PAYPAL ACCOUNT

I agree with corzhens... Why don't you ask a relative to open it for you? I mean if you got someone of your family living in some other country. I did this with my cousin and It work fine. I recommend: you need to find a person you trust of course. It doesn't need to be someone from the US, they just need to be in some place Paypal is allow.

Paypal is very strict about its interactions. It would be difficult to smoothly get around their restrictions. There are other sites like Payoneer or payza which could be good for you but the problem is that they are not as popular as Paypal and they don't have the support that Paypal enjoys.

Since Paypal is not included in your country, you could get a relative in US or Asian countries to help you out. Just open a new paypal account with the person's details and set your online earning sites connected to the paypal email address. This is the matter of trust between you two. Otherwise, you have to depend on Adsense.

Where in Africa are you? I've searched their website and saw that PayPal caters to Africa. Check this link out: https://www.paypal.com/ph/webapps/mpp/country-worldwide

If you don't have a bank account that supports PayPal though, you're not completely screwed. You can either:

1. Open an account in a bank that supports PayPal. Or;
2. Use your PayPal funds to avail of a Web hosting service, create a website, monetize with adsense and get money through western union.

Take your pick.

I've known people who opened their account on a country where is allowed. Not very sure the way it works, but they did. The only issue with this is that you will be under that country law. So, this guy I know, had to pay some taxes according to that country rules, once he had some amount of money on it, or when he was doing a transaction (that is what he told me). The other way is to ask someone you know really well, to open an account in U.S. for you, bad thing is you will be depending on his well or bad actions.

This can be very inconvenient for you. There is a list of African countries where residents from those countries are allowed to have a PayPal account. I hope that you have gone through this list. I know a case where a student was studying in Germany and he was from another country and his country was not listed on PayPal. He then opened a PayPal account stating that he stays in Germany. I think the best thing for you to do will be to contact PayPal directly.

Another alternative is Payoneer. I use both Paypal and Payoneer here in Brazil. Maybe this is an alternative for you.

I wonder too, why that is so. Because I looked at the countries that are being served by PayPal and there are countries where it is specifically mentioned that they are not allowed.

As I have seen the comment of hermessantos, there is Payoneer.

I would inform the customer service to ask for their opinions. In certain cases, you can consider opening a bank account in your neighbouring country which is accepted by PayPal so you can have a verified PayPal account. Withdrawals have to be done to your overseas bank account. The problem is that you will have to be charged when you transfer from overseas account to your local bank account.

Corzhens came up with the best solution, I think. If you have a friend/relative that lives in a country where PayPal is allowed I would ask them if they can manage your money for you and send the funds via your bank account.

The case is the same for me.
PayPal is not available in my country but the businesses I participate in requires PayPal.
I usually just use it to get paid and I just use its content for online shopping.
Unfortunately I cannot withdraw anything for it though -,-

In opening a PAypal account, just go to paypal website and register, you need to have an email of course and they will ask
you a verification.

On their 3rd step, they will ask you to link a card, you can link a personal ATM mastercard or visa, then once your card verified
you can now have Paypal account.

How to withdraw money from your paypal account? go to your paypal portal, you have withdrawals there and will ask you
what card you want it to be transferred. As long you have a visa or mastercard ATM you can withdraw it anytime.

Yes have a word with Paypal. There are other ways like using a VPN to redirect your ip address and thereby virtually changing your country/ location but this can get you banned. This can compromise your account and revenue stream. Perhaps if you do not have a relative or friend abroad, you probably may have a relative or friend in another part of Africa where Paypal is accepted. I saw somewhere in this post that someone here is in Africa and in a place where Paypal is accepted. Perhaps you could liaise with her. Ask the nice lady if she can setup a Paypal account for you and locate another ewallet that is ok with your location then ask the nice lady if she can transfer any funds coming in to that account to your accepted ewallet. Start out with little funds and then gradually increase the funds and perhaps in time you could find a better way where you could control the entire process. Oh and don't forget to thank the nice lady!

Actually, you can ask somebody you knew who live in a country where Paypal is allowed. You can use that Paypal information and have your trusted friend withdraw it for you and send it to your bank account. This is the best way that you can do if you wish to continue to use Paypal.

I think there is a chance or probably an alternative for Paypal, but I'm not actually sure about it, seems the problem is too serious that you can't do anything about it. If Paypal isn't available in your country then it's goinG to be a big problem. But don't lose hope there are so many ways you can do or can think of that would solve it. You may want to ask your friend or do more a little research about it. Hope your problem would be fixed and goodluck!

Hi I tried searching today and I think Paypal is already available in Africa now. You may try and check the site again if you can open your account. I recently just discovered the wonders of Paypal and I'm making the most out of it so far.

Yeah I'm wondering if the original poster has had any luck with their PayPal experience. I just checked PayPal's site and it says that their service is available in over 50 African countries. Considering there are 54 countries in the whole of Africa, it would be really unfortunate if the poster was part of one of those four that don't have the service yet. I myself just recently started using PayPal as well, as it only came to my country not long ago, and it really is such a convenient service.

Yeah, not really sure if the African service has only been available recently. I love how convenient Paypal both in receiving money and in paying for online purchases or just to add to your bank account.

Yes, I was going to suggest since some time has passed you may be able to get it in Africa now. There is certainly a demand for it, and PayPal is a business after all so it was likely to come about at some point. I hope it works out for you.

Well as far as I'm aware there are a number of options that you could go with, but it can get pretty messy for the most part. As others have mentioned, you could get a relative to open a PayPal account in a country where it is available, and then they can transfer the money to you somehow. Though with all the transaction fees, you might be losing a fair bit of cash in the long run. I know there are people who have opened PayPal accounts by tricking the system and using a proxy server, but I'm fairly sure that is illegal. Might not technically be, but it seems risky to me. It's best to just wait until PayPal reaches your country, but thankfully it is spreading faster and faster.

I think the only way for you to get the paypal account is to find someone not residing in your country and ask that person to make paypal account for you. I would suggest that person could be your relatives living to a country wherein paypal is allowed. You have nothing to do to make your own paypal account as long as you are in your country where paypal is restricted. That is the only way I see for you to have paypal account.

I have a friend that I invited to a site that pays for posting. But I didn’t know that the guy has no credit card so he couldn’t open a Paypal account. The only alternative is for another person who is qualified to open a Paypal account and let it be used by my friend. But it is money that we are talking about and that’s not a good setup to let other people have full access to your money.

I agree with you on that. Money is very important and trusting something related to money to other person is not a good practice.

In Kenya there is PayPal. I run it and has used it to earn money. There is 2Checkout which operates all over.

Yeah its hard to transfer money in other countries as Paypal is not available on their country. For me the best way to withdraw your money is to look for other trusted relatives who lives in other country . When they received your money, let them send it to you via bank account. That's the only thing I know.
