4 website tricks that will save you hours of time each week

When you start a website, you will usually be overwhelmed when it comes to how many large and small taks there are to perform, and that means you'll want to start outsourcing some of these things and reduce the amount of time you're doing work.  When I started out, I did all my own work because I couldn't afford to outsource any of the small tasks I didn't want to do.  As soon as I could afford it, I would start to outsource little things and do the rest, but eventually I was able to run a team that did a lot of the work so I didn't have to worry too much about everything getting done 4 website tricks that will save you hours of time each week

Just using one of the tricks I'll cover below can save you hours of time each week, which adds up if you think about it, and you'll actually make more money because you can focus on more important things like lead generation.  Most of the website related tasks that you need to do will get overwhelming the larger your company gets, so you should always look how you can streamline or automate tasks early on so you're ready when you actually have to do it.  Think about it, if you save 10 hours a week, that's 10 hours you can focus on building new revenue streams or talking to potential business partners that could help you increase your profits exponentially 4 website tricks that will save you hours of time each week

In this discussion I'll be covering 4 website tricks to save your hours of time, and those 4 tricks are:

Automating your social media marketing
A lot of people like typing up and manually posting all their social media marketing stuff, but it's not needed since there are nice little tools like Hootsuite, which will automate these tasks.  Sure, you'll have to type up all your posts, and place any links within the posts you want to make, but after that you just schedule the post and work on something else.  I actually know some successful business owners that type up all their social media posts within the first few days of each month and schedule their posting so they don't have to worry about anything except answering any questions that pop up on the posts 4 website tricks that will save you hours of time each week

Automating your social media marketing like this won't always reduce the amount of time it takes to produce the posts, but you will save time on the posting since it's automatic.  You won't have to log in every day, or week, and post manually to each of your platforms.  This means if each post takes you a total of 2 minutes, and you post to 10 platforms regularly, that's 20 minutes a day or 2 hours and 20 minutes each week you're saving.

Using a ticket system instead of managing emails
A ticket system is always better than an email system, unless you're capturing emails for newsletters, but that's about it.  A ticket system will help you sort out all the questions being asked and you can even have canned responses as well as related questions already answered where the person asking the new question can likely get the answer.

If you're getting 50 people to your website that want to ask you a question, and 25 of them are finding their own answers through the related questions section, you're saving up a massive amount of time.  Think about it, if you have 25 people asking you a question and it takes you around 1 minute to answer, that's just 25 minutes.  The thing is, you don't always finish a conversation after just one answer, you'll talk to them 3, 4, 5 even 5 times before they get the answer they want.  If you have pre-answered questions in place, you can reduce a 20 minute conversation to a 0 minute conversation, saving you almost 8 hours and 30 minutes.

Hiring freelancers to do various tasks
Freelancers are a great thing to bring on board when you start getting a ton of things on your plate and you don't possibly have the time to finish everything.  Right now you could be overwhelmed by all the SEO you have to do, all the content generation that is needed, all the marketing you must do to bring in leads, and all the branding that is required if you want to be the authority within your niche.

You can bring in credible freelancers and literally get your freelancers working for hundreds of combined hours that you could never do 4 website tricks that will save you hours of time each week   I have an SEO company and I bring on SEO freelancers to help out when I need them, not because I can't do the work myself, but because I get too much work and need some help.  I also have freelancers that do work for me each week and that saves me an insane amount of time 4 website tricks that will save you hours of time each week

Bring on some virtual assistants to do remedial tasks
A virtual assistant shouldn't be confused with a freelancer, because one does stuff that helps you a lot with your business and the other does small remedial tasks that just waste your time but need to be done.  A VA should be brought on if you need them to delete a lot of things, create small things that take no skill to do, and various other things that would be similar to sweeping a digital businesses floor if that were a thing lol.  A VA can also do data entry well, but there aren't many situations when that will arise and you can't get a freelancer to do that as they work on their jobs.

In conclusion
If you're running a successful business, you likely have freelancers helping you out and you are probably automating whatever you can to reduce your own workload as well as the work for anyone else helping you out.  If you do all of the above, you will literally save hundreds of hours each week, much more than you could even be awake lol.  Your freelancers will work 5+ hours a day, and if you have 10 people doing certain tasks, that's a combined of 50 hours a day which isn't even possible for you to do since there is only 24 4 website tricks that will save you hours of time each week  Save time, keep some sanity, and make some profits 4 website tricks that will save you hours of time each week

Thanks for the nice article. Thanks for the techniques also. Recently I had built up a new website and I shall apply all of the techniques with my new website. I had used hoot suite long times ago- basically its a beautiful software and it will help a huge if any one wants to do social media marketing by an automatic system. Making a ticket system is absolutely beautiful but for my self I pass huge time online. So I have built up a live messaging system. Rest of the 2 techniques are also nice for saving time.

Thanks

I have been studying Hootsuite if I can use it for my purpose. I’m sorry but I cannot explain the details here because it involves my work as a freelancer. But I guess Hootsuite is best for social media posting that you can make a schedule for the pre-written posts that you have in your storage. Even when you are out of town and away from the internet the posts will be there as if you are the one posting.

Knowing about management is a great deal when it comes to being the head in anything you find yourself. And when it comes to working as website managing forums/blogs/websites, there are ways to help things get a lot easier for you. Carrying everything on your head can be overwhelming and as such you would need extra pair of hands by hiring freelancers who are cost effective compared to having a full time staff. Also making sure use of ticket system for your mail management would save you a great deal of stress and time.

This is so true. I've seen other business heads who are constantly stressed and overworked because of shouldering all the work. They have to realize that they have bigger priorities. Businesses that grow big require more people capable of handling the necessary positions. That's why I find these tips helpful. They give us ideas for sharing the workload and making our business more efficient.

Using a ticket system instead of managing emails

I would definitely have to second this. Many times I am trying to piece together many different emails and it gets quite extensive and really exhausting - fast. Some other times I find that I may have deleted an email that was important for a client.

This is where a ticket system could come into play, and it can tremendously help! Not only can it help but your customers would love it too because having a support ticket system seems like it is faster than emails. I do not know about anyone else but I HATEEEE to check my email. One main reason is because I get tons of spam/junk email, and I have to shift through the junk to get to the important emails -- sometimes email spam filters just don't work how they should!

So for anyone who sells products or services, and does not already have a support ticket system, I strongly recommend that you get one. Some are free, and some you have to pay for - of course. A free favorite of mine is called "OSTicket". Very easy to install/setup and use. It's used widely so some of your clients or customers will already be used to the system.

Oh man, a ticket system has helped me out thousands of times 4 website tricks that will save you hours of time each week Well, probably not thousands, but it has definitely helped out a lot to keep everything organized haha 4 website tricks that will save you hours of time each week

Good call on OSTicket, I forgot all about them because I've been using Zendesk for my support system. I don't pay for the biggest package because I don't really need it and the starter packages have worked well for me so far 4 website tricks that will save you hours of time each week

Yeah, OSTicket always seems to be my "go to" whenever I need a support ticket system up and runing fast. However, I do love Zendesk, but I just don't want to pay for a support ticket system. But my love for Zendesk will probably turn into me being a customer one of these days. What package do you use? I know it's like $5 per additional support agent? I think? It's been awhile since I reviewed their pricing.

Automating your social media advertising is a smart move but it's also something that should not be overdone. Otherwise, you could end up being miscast as a spam account.

Pardon me but an automated marketing in social media doesn’t look comfortable to me. And all the automation does is to post automatically. Since you need to check on the previous posts for the comments anyway so you can manually do the posting of the new item for promotion. I will still go for the manual method because the intention is to post something with a personal touch. Your post will depend on your mood and that gives an impression that your marketing is on a personal basis and not mechanical.

Manual posting is great, but if you have dozens of websites it's going to take up your entire day and you won't be able to focus on anything else. If you take a few days to schedule your posts across all your profiles, you can open up your schedule and focus on other things.

Sure, you'll have to engage with anyone leaving comments, but that's normal.

Great post! Automation should be considered if your business is getting bigger and you can't handle all the stuff by yourself. Intelligent people hire people that are more intelligent than them ( I forgot who said that but I think it is really an intelligent thing to do). It's called working smarter and not harder. When you have people working for you, you are leveraging. And leverage is the secret of having more time and becoming more productive.

Automating social media content has been an invaluable tool for me. The main benefit isn't even saving time though, but rather the fact that I can even get my content out there at all! What I mean by this is that I live in a rural area with fairly - shall we say, "meh" - internet connection, that is not only slow but often times simply cuts out. Obviously this a huge issue for sites like YouTube where you're uploading large videos and trying to keep them coming on a consistent basis. On good days when the internet is working fine, I upload a huge amount of content, and then slowly release it over time, and that way I know it's guaranteed to reach viewers.

Hiring freelancers is definitely one way to speed up various tasks regarding your website but obviously, a big disadvantage is the fact that these people cost and some of them aren't cheap (depending what it is). That's why I have never really hired others for the work that I can do alone. But it also depends what sort of website you are running, how busy it is and how much time you have on your hands.

Until now I am doing social media marketing manually. I have avoided automation because I do not have a luxury of spending money on social media promotion. I could have used HootSuite free version which will allow you to post on three social media sites, however, I don't know why I have not joined yet.
I think having a ticket system instead of email system for support is a good idea. However, I am yet to try this on my sites.

I actually admire how you give such tips for everyone to ponder to. It really is a great advice. I agree that hiring freelancers would save your time spent on working while at the same time earning profits. That is actually a wonderful idea and also there are many people around the world who are working as a freelancer that is why there is no difficulty finding one. Just as long as they do their job properly.

Those are indeed some great tips. I am considering hiring two freelancers this year as my workload has been increasing and also to help me with my new marketing campaign. I will then be able to give more time to my urgent tasks. I think I will have to develop this ticketing system in the future. It is a herculean task to go through all these emails and respond to them.

The last 3 tips are good to know for future reference. But that first tip about automating your social media posting is a real time-saver. Only thing is that sometimes the automation ends up becoming a bunch of spam links because certain links you shared from a particular site or a particular RSS feed became outdated because the site disappeared. I have had the experience of sharing links from various sites to help promote the site. It was all in vain. The site shut down but my links were still online for others to click and end up nowhere! Very frustrating. Other than that I still use tools to automate my social media sharing tasks. There are so many tools to choose from and most of them are very good!
