How do I start affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing has always been something that I have been interested in. I am currently on a gap year so I have got a bit of time to spare so I thought why not jump into it now. For anyone that has some experience with it or is currently doing some affiliate marketing, how do I start? What type of products/services do you think I should start to get into it?

Affiliate marketing it easy and difficult at the same time, which is extremely annoying for people just starting out lol. A lot of people think they can just register for a system, then post their affiliate links all over the place and make a commission, but it just doesn't work like that.

A few ways you can crack into affiliate marketing, and actually profit, is simple but takes a little bit of time to set up. Below I'll go over a couple of the more known ways, that bring in money, that won't require a ton of money up front to build How do I start affiliate marketing?

Write your own eBook
This is pretty obvious, you'll be writing an eBook, but it will have to be extremely detailed and fill a hole within a niche so you can profit a decent amount. You can go through amazon and see what eBooks are selling, and if you find a niche that doesn't have many listings, that's where you come in How do I start affiliate marketing?

You don't have to be a specialist in the niche, you just have to do all the research someone would have to do in order to get into it, and they will come across your eBook that has all the answers How do I start affiliate marketing? Think about it, there probably isn't many eBooks about competitive basket weaving, and that's because it's not really a thing lol. If you can find something like that, which actually exists, you will find a void that can be filled with your own information How do I start affiliate marketing?

The key to eBooks and affiliate marketing is you'll place your own affiliate links within the eBook, and you'll make a commission whenever someone downloads your book and then makes a purchase through your link, obviously. You can give your book away for free, or sell it for much less than anyone else within the niche, so you're guaranteed to make more sales than your competition How do I start affiliate marketing?

Setting up a review website
There are a bunch of plugins and WordPress themes that revolve around this type of website, so go over to themeforest.net and find the right theme, that comes with free plugins, and set up your review website. Again, you'll want to target a low competition niche so you can turn a profit quicker than a difficult niche.

You'll be reviewing, or comparing, products or services and giving your honest review that is going to be positive because you want people to then click the "Buy Now" or "More Info" button that is actually your affiliate link to the product or service you just reviewed.

This method works extremely well if you can rank for the product name + review, which could be "Amazon Prime Review" and then you link to where people can sign up for an amazon prime subscription and you get a commission. I'm not actually sure if that's a possibility, since I don't push amazon products, but it's a good idea lol How do I start affiliate marketing?

One of my online mentor happens to be into affiliate marketing as well and his main focus is on his review website. He is actually very good at it and have done more reviews than I could ever count. So taking up writing your own ebook and starting up a review website can help you. You can look into wealthy affiliate marketing programs and see how that helps.

Good luck.

There is no guarantee whether you can make money or not, however, affiliate marketing is the easiest online business. You don't need a lot of funds to start affiliate marketing. Create a website, publish some contents and apply for affiliate networks such amazon, clickbanks, commission junction, linkshare etc. Upon approval, you will have access to the products that you can promote on your website. When someone buys from your website, you will earn commission.

I think the advice above given by Tommy is lot more solid. The ebook and the promotion inside the book are more better. And it can make you some quick money. You can see that some of the time the affiliate marketers have to focus on link buidling. And other ways to bring traffic. And it can get some really serious on that part. I think that's one more reason I find affiliate marketing interesting.

I am always interested in affiliate marketing too, but I have not spend time to study and work much on it. I actually plan to set up my own blog, and share the products that I like on my blog. The first product that comes to my mind is Ultimate Bundle, as I have purchased a few bundles from this company, I really like their products and they are affordable too. I think those are good for parents or homemakers, though there are products that might interest others. Besides this, I have purchased a few parenting and homeschooling resources, and those offer affiliate programs too. Since I am more interested in parenting and homeschooling, and these will be what I blog about, I would like to work on these affiliate programs as well.

I hope you will figure out what to do, and have good success soon. I am looking forward to read more sharing from you too.

If you blog about parenting and homeschooling it makes sense to promote homeschooling and parenting affiliate products on your blog. If your contents and ads match, the readers are likely to purchase the products. For example, someone checks your article about afterschool supplies, he finds one product interesting and he buys it. You make money. TO maximize your affiliate earning you need related products.

Yes affiliate marketing takes more time than dropshipping. And the thing is that you have to be constantly writing something and sending traffic to it. And it may only lead to more work with links and all. I have learned that it's the one wheel where you just keep on running. So Affiliate marketing is definitely not an easy thing to do.

Affiliate marketing is one of the big earning sector in this world. Amazon, E bay and many other E commerce platform based affiliate marketing is popular in this world. I am also thinking about to start an affiliate marketing program but here the first thing is to research the niche. You have to research and analysis your country market and later you have to identify a high volume of niche to start and you need to publish products regular on that niche and should need to do white hat SEO based works to get success.

Thanks

How to start up affiliate marketing is a big deal with seriousness if you want to earn right, starting those sales of ebooks is the fastest way to make money in affiliate marketing, you might start up a new brand and introduce it to the cyber world and boom you have got it all right.
I see people everyday each time I go through my Facebook bringing up ideas like 'Mentor box' and 'Designrr' for easy mentorship and easy ways to create ebooks, you need to check them out and so you can have more insight on which kind of affiliate marketing you want to do, they will give you clue on what to expect too. Tommy's advise is okay and it's best you take them.

I don't think that selling e-books is as profitable though. For one simple reason; people offer the majority of e-books for free nowadays and the market is oversaturated. So, instead of doing that, he could potentially just offer an attractive e-book for FREE in exchange for their emails - that will enable him to start building up a list.

Well, I was in your shoes not too long ago and one thing you must know, emails are the key! You should focus on building up a big email list. Besides that, choose which products you want to promote carefully because some niches are MUCH harder than others. The best options are things that are currently popular and you know that people would genuinely be interested in potentially buying.

Also, don't be afraid to make mistakes. You will learn from them.

I am into the programming niche. And it has very low buyers. So not sure if the emails are a good approach in this niche. I am guessing that some of the time such niche can be good enough for the conversion. So many times I have seen some niches are not working. And it requires a lot more bolder and better approach.

In my opinion the best way to start affiliate marketing is getting a mentor. I would recommend this if you have the money. Affiliate marketing just like any other skill, requires knowledge. The quickest way, I know of to get knowledge in anything is through a teacher. They are many programmes online, just do your research.

I'm new in affiliate marketing and what I have found is that you could not easily entice people to click on your affiliate link if they do not see you as a credible person. So you have to build trust first before you could make money in affiliate marketing. You have to present yourself first a person that has something valuable to offer. You can do this by, as what TommyCarey suggests, creating an e-book that contains your affiliate like and creating a website where you can consistently post articles that will draw people to look and click on your affiliate link.

The best way to start is to look into some of the people you do business with. Your webhost for example. Then see if they have an affiliate link you can generate sales from.

As far as I'm aware, there are a number of ways that you could get into affiliate marketing. But even though you might have a multitude of options, the basic principal of affiliate marketing comes down to one thing: monetizing your online traffic. The foundation of affiliate marketing starts off with creating your own website to host your original content, whatever that content may be. It could be a blog, or as mentioned above, writing your own ebook or starting a review site. The idea is to bring traffic to your site, and then monetize it so that each person visiting brings with them a chance of you making money.

From what I have seen amazon links are not allowed in the ebook in PDF form. They allow it in kindle. But not allowed in the PDF based books. So that is something that may have an issue. So depending on how the people getting traffic it would be harder to see this though. I am learning slowly on this part.

Since you are active here it seems (or at least since it seems that you are since you're posting on the community discussions) I would try to promote some services here. For starters some great services are the ones that are featured on the front page, or you can target services in a niche you're comfortable with and knowledgable in. Now, you probably won't be able to make a living promoting services at first, and it will probably take a lot of your time but you will really learn everything you need to.

Whenever I want to do some affiliate marketing, I always look for platforms that have an unlimited earnings system, commissions for life (for instance if you got someone to sign up then you would earn a commission on all their purchases for life), and a platform that basically does all the work for you leaving you with all the time to drive sales to their services.

Where to promote such services? This is the tricky part. If you have money to buy PPC ads on social media I would try to start there but sometimes the link is banned to the marketplace so you would probably have to create an article or landing page to add the link.

I actually have the same question in mind. I am new to this field and I really appreciate helpful tips that I read so far. Affiliate marketing can make a you good amount of income I think, but it takes time for you to build good reputation on the internet so that you'll get your prospect buyer's trust. You can start by creating helpful blogs that gives a good a idea for your prospect buyer about the purpose of what you are selling and how is it going to be useful to their daily lives.

Another way you could try getting into affiliate marketing is by actually spending money to promote products either directly offline, via newspaper ads or online. Should you choose to head this route then pick a product that has a really high demand.

As for products you should get into, you should initially opt to promote products made only by reputable companies or well known individuals because they'll be easier to sell. If people know the com[any which manufactures the product or the person who has written an ebook, even if they don't trust you, the seller, they could still buy the product.

I am also planning to get into affiliate marketing because I am attracted with some of the testimonies that I have read that affiliate marketing can give you consistent earning and you can also have an income that can be a replacement for your job. In other words, you can earn so much money in affiliate marketing if you get lucky to have many customers.
