YouTube isn't the only place you can make money with your videos

Whenever someone wants to make a ton of money online through video distribution, they tend to think they can only post to YouTube, but that's not the case at all!  There are plenty of platforms out there just like YouTube that get millions of visitors each month, and you can get your piece of the pie if you jump in early and optimize your content as much as possible.

Just think of a platform like DailyMotion which gets millions of views each day.  If you can become an authority on that platform you can easily make a ton of money each month, and you would never need to log into a YouTube account again lol.  DailyMotion isn't even the only one you can post you, you have Vimeo, Twitch, Metacafe, PhotoBucket, Flickr, Veoh, Blip.tv, Vube, Netflix.  Now, you can't upload your own videos to all of these, but you can see what I mean when I talk about how there are plenty of video hosting platforms out there YouTube isn

There are other platforms to publish your content too
Just like I mentioned above, there are plenty of other platforms to focus on other than YouTube, in order to make money through your own videos.  If you can become an authority in your niche on DailyMotion, you will notice a great deal of website traffic and that means you'll likely get more ad clicks or product purchases going through your systems YouTube isn

Use social media to pull people to your own website
A lot of people think like how it was in a field of dreams "if you build it, they will come" and that's just not true.  You need to market your videos as much as possible to bring in traffic from all over the place, and social platforms are a great way to do this.

Post your videos to your own website then start an ad campaign to bring traffic right to them for a low cost.  If you can do this, you can usually profit, but it will take some tweaking before you get it just right.

Use SEO strategies to pull in the traffic that will make you money
SEO is one of the biggest things that gets overlooked when it comes to video distribution and marketing because everyone thinks they only have to do it on their website's pages.  If you optimize your videos titles, descriptions, and event he scripts within the videos you will notice a decent amount of traffic coming in after your videos start to rank a little bit.

Cross-share your content for better success
Never make a video just for one platform because you're just cutting off traffic sources that could benefit you immensely.  Think about it, if you're making something just for YouTube you're going to cut off DailyMotion traffic and that means less money in your bank account.  Do you want to make less money?  No?  Ok, start making content that can be cross-shared for better success YouTube isn

*** Side Note ***
It doesn't take thousands of dollars to start up your own video creation, you just need a cell phone and an attachment that mimics a steady cam and you can have some amazing videos.

In conclusion
When you get into video distribution you need to know it will take time before you're successful, so you need to be patient.  All the big accounts on YouTube or DailyMotion right now with millions of followers took a lot of time to get there.  If you're seeing 100+ subscribers per day, you're already getting more traffic than 99% of the videos online, and that's a great thing if you think about it!  Sure, you're not getting 10,000+ new subscribers a day like a bigger account, but you'll get there eventually as long as you keep up the quality video production YouTube isn

Hey Tommy Carey, are you still inactive? I guess you are out there living the dream. And good for you. In regards to your post, i wonder if you can really earn money on those other sites. Do they have built in monetization? Would these sites you mentioned work for Spotify and music artists not just video content creators? I don't have a lot of experiencing with monetizing videos only monetizing content. I was thinking maybe a good solution for content/video creators would be to solicit fans to subscribe via Patreon. Even something so simple as BuyMeACoffee which lets you share protected posts in exchange for a 'coffee' (that is a tip/money) would be better than posting one more place for free. Then you can use sites like the ones you mentioned to drive traffic to the protected posts which will only be unlocked with pay.
