In creating a good Marketing Plan you need to know the strenght and weaknesses of your product. This means you need to do Market Research first. Then put a Price Tag on your product, do the Pricing.

Then you need to do Target Marketing and Market Segmentation to properly identify your target market.

After that you can start making your marketing plan by having a Goal or Target and laying down the plans to achieve that goal.

I agree with you. Just focusing on the street if the product won't help as you will only target the area of getting money. You have to always think on how to improve, and by doing that, be courageous to know and accept the weakness of your products or your business.

A market research is not an easy thing to do because you have to get the description and even the ingredients of the competing product aside from the prices. Comparing products is the hardest because they have different ingredients and different descriptions that you may not be sure if what you are seeing is accurate. One example is tv set that is easy to compare although you need to experience watching so you will know if the picture is clear and with quality.

I'm about to start an offline business and I'm working on my business plan. A marketing plan is part of the business so I'm writing one.I'm curious about how you write a marketing plan for an online business. I don't think that they are many people who do that. Yet they are running online businesses. I think that this is more important for an online business, because remember that you have a global marketplace, its more important to study and know your audience.

In our salesmanship course in college, our professor said that you have to know the product very well before you can sell it. Of course, it is not literally true because you can sell a product by just using the description. But do you think it ends there? It is best for a marketing person to have a complete knowledge of the product and if possible you should know the source and how it is manufactured. That’s what good salesmen are doing.

I agree with you. Since you want to ensure that you're providing a good quality product and service to your customer, you have to know everything there is about the product. Also, there will be customers who are so meticulous and will ask you a lot of questions about the product, so it's best to be knowledgeable.

Everything does need a plan especially if it's about business because you're investing a vast amount of your money in hopes to gain profits as for your future income. Money is hard to earn and by doing business you'll be able to make it grow but it's risky that's why you need to make a proper and detailed plan, short term and long term plans in order to ensure that your business would generate money.

When creating a marketing plan you ought to start with market research. That will save you a lot of time.

Before you start a business, you need to find out if the business idea is viable. The only way to find out is by doing market research. That way you'll know which products or services which people want but have difficulty accessing. Provide the answer and tell this people that you have what they have been looking for.

I agree. Doing a market research could help in creating an effective marketing strategy. It would provide you an idea on which product would be in demand. Always keep in mind that your goal is to make people buy your product because they need the product. And doing a resesrch on what could it be is a big step to consider before starting off a business.

Exactly. This is but the surefire way to sell something. Make the mistake of just wading in and hoping that you'll sell a product because it exists, you'll find it really hard to find customers. This is probably the top reason why many business fail.

I agree. You have to find what you think is needed the most of the people and on the same time no other business have offered before. On thay way, you'll find customers in no time and have your business successful.

You have to find what you think is needed the most of the people and on the same time no other business have offered before.

Something else that could get you success fast is finding out the weaknesses of your potential competitor - what their customers hate about them - and providing them (the customers) with a more positive shopping experience. For example if their customer service is poor and you can provide excellent customer service, you win. They sell inferior products and you can do better, you win.

There is a lot of good material here but the formatting is a bit…odd. You mention there are five steps but went on to write “Step 1” and then go on to the four P’s of marketing. Also, as a side note, the formatting makes it hard to tell what’s the introduction and what is the actual instructional part. I don’t mean to heavily criticize, I’m just trying to provide some constructive criticism for your future posts.

In any case, I’d definitely say that your “four P’s” of marketing are certainly some of the most fundamental strategies with regards to sales, and are essential for anyone looking to sell any sort of product or service. They’re the rules of thumb for any aspiring entrepreneur!

That's right. To establish a good marketing plan for your business never forget the fundamentals. I remember when I was in college, our professor in Salesmanship teach us the AIDCA Theory or AIDA Theory for some. AIDCA stands for Attention, Interest, Desire, Conviction and Action. This Theory helps me not only in business but also in a lot of ways.

Thekey to a good marketing plan is to target customers within your niche, and set your prices at or slightly below market value. For example, if someone is selling or offering a similar product at $300, offering that product for $290 might land you customers that otherwise would've went to the other guy. That $10 price drop makes a big difference.

I agree. People would definitely go to the lower price. Offering lower prices could be a good marketing strategy. It could lure more customers to buy your products and services. You just have to give them a good quality of service within a lower price. Compete with quality and with justified price.

I agree with you. Even though it is less than the competitor's price, you will still gain income because a lot of people would be drawn to your business instead of the other.

I think that it is very essential to have a well thought out strategy when it comes to marketing. If you dont execute a a well thought out marketing strategy , then you will eventually fail in your attempt to boost sales and increase profits. The four p's of Product, Price , Promotion and Place explained in this post are very important when you are devising a strategy for marketing
