Is paying for traffic worth it?

Traffic is the source of life to any website because without them, the website and online business is already dead even before it starts. This is actually why some people go to any extent in order to generate traffic for their site by even paying for traffic as well instead of generating organic traffic by themselves.

Is paying for traffic for one's website the right thing to do?

I think it boils down to a matter of principle ( and we know this differs with the individual). If you are one of those people who want quick results, the best way is to buy your way to it. However, if you are one of those people who will only reap what they sow, then it's okay to do it yourself.

It's also important to note that, some people are clueless as to how to generate traffic to their websites and or blogs. Shouldn't these people simply pay those who can to do this for them? I think there is nothing wrong with hiring the services of people who are more competent than you to deliver a service.

I never try using to generate traffic on my website because I don't how to do it. I also find it a waste of time or maybe because I really don't know how to do myself but then I can't afford to pay services to others which makes my blog boring.

I think is t is great if you could do a marketing strategy for the business such that you are able to figure out what is needed and how much you have to take care of such so that you can know whether it is feasible and practical to buy the leads.

You have spoken very well and am glad about it. If you can buy traffic then it is well and still it is well if you generate it. It all leads to the same. Do I say?

I agree with you. For people who want to automatically see their site doing well among others, it's better to buy traffic rather than doing it in you own. But, it really depends on one's decision.

Buying traffic is really worth it, as what's said in this post without traffic your website is dead before it even start, buying traffic maybe expensive but it's totally worth it

There is a very good point in what you have just mentioned about some people who just lack the ability and knowledge of how to generate traffic for their websites.

So, instead of wasting time and still not be able to get it done, I believe it would be a better idea to contract the job to professional and it would be taken care of.

Is paying for traffic worth it? It depends if what you're spending is smaller that what you'll be receiving then it's worth it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

What I think is traffic is just traffic whether generated or paid for. If the traffic is not comprised of bots, am contended with it. Traffic makes a website. If they buy your products, the better.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Jeane
Agreed. What makes a difference is the quality of the traffic. When paying for traffic you most obviously are after a specific outcome. If the people who land on your site do what you expected them to, then it really doesn't matter if you paid for that traffic or not.

What everyone should be wary of is cheap, low quality traffic. You'll mainly be getting bots or people from ptc sites who won't buy anything you are selling.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

stbrians
Ending up buying bots as traffic is the worst thing ever. Bots will not be helpful unless you want traffic as something like beauty.

Some websites owners don't mind inflating traffic numbers because they sell ad space on their sites. If someone is convinced - by the hit counter - that there are lots of people visiting a website, they could pay for a banner ad or something. Rather slimy, but such things get done regularly.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Kakashi2020
I agree it depends on the quality of traffic that would be coming to your site, if it's useful traffic or not. If it's useful then it's worth it but if it's not, then better stop paying.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It's actually as a result of getting the wrong traffic from paying for it instead of working for it yourself that makes some webmasters frown at paying for traffic but rather prefer to generate organic traffic for their websites by themselves.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Kakashi2020
You're quite right, it really depends in the quality of traffic if it's useful or if it's useless. That's why it's always better to generate the traffic yourself, if you have the time to do so. If not then it's best to hire someone who could help you deliver targeted traffic to your site.

I think if the website is still in the first steps of progress, paying for traffic might be a big help. Of course, you should not just rely on the paid traffic but also work it on your own. When you already have regular traffic, you can let go of using such traffic generators so that you can appreciate your real traffic already. You can just use paid traffic just to keep you website running and alive.

I guess, both paid or free traffic has a great contribution on any website. Like others say, it's the life of a website. It is always better to know and find ways to make the site grow and sustain. Sometimes, it's still better to have organic followers for free a traffic. So, you won't have to worry losing a traffic especially when you can't afford for paid one.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

burgosmichael24
I agree with you. Paid traffic or generated one are both needed to establish your website. For those who have just started their website, paid traffic is very helpful for them. However, they cannot always depend on that. They need to get some alternative as they grow.

I have not generated any traffic yet. A website is what I need as I do not have any. It is a great idea to generate traffic

You have a great point. I guess, both should be done equally so it would be better.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I completely agree with you on this about having to combine the both paying for traffic and working yourself to boost your website traffic and not rely solely on the ones generated by paying for it especially when the website is still new.

Noth the paid traffic and the ones you worked for yourself are good to push the site up.

I do agree that there are times when buying traffic is really useful. Doing it while also personally building your own traffic could jumpstart your business faster.

I think you should first try to cultivate a natural following and once you have a small base, maybe pay for some traffic to get you to the next level of people knowing your website. If you start off right away with paying for traffic, it might create a problem further down the road if you look to sell your business/website or just lead to bad habits of always paying for traffic.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

stbrians
A very good idea. Generating traffic is better than buying traffic.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Jeane
Generating traffic is better than buying traffic but for someone who wants faster returns buying traffic would get them what they want faster.

There is one site I know which after it was launched, the owners (media tycoons) spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on ads.

Three months later, the website was drawing in millions of people each month and by then, they didn't need to promote the site anymore.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Janie1994
That's different though, if you have enough money you can buy your way into success. I'm talking more about someone who is likely just starting out their business or website and who cannot neccessarily afford to spend thousands of dollars on generating traffic.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
I also feel the same about ideally going down the route of natural traffic. I think with paid traffic then you're really just buying people, and if you end up not having money to dedicate to paying for traffic anymore then your traffic will just dry up.

Organic is so much better than manufactured for long term traffic, IMO.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Janie1994
I agree with you, paying for traffic sets a bad long-term precendent. By using up all your money on paid traffic, the website creator loses the potential of developing a loyal base. Paid traffic is not as likely to be loyal or even want to interact with the website as a long-term user.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

theresajane
That a very great point. Though I think it's better to pay for traffic. Your idea is quite plausible.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Normally, I'm only fully in support of paying for traffic when there is an immediate need for having a big traffic hit on the website otherwise paying for the traffic when you have all the time in the world to build it gradually doesn't make any sense at all.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree.Paying for traffic is a bad habit. It should not be used as the only way to generate following. Quality content is key.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It relies upon on what you imply by saying buy traffic whether or not it is a subsidized post, banner or just a massive quantity of traffic that comes from the unknown sources. If the last, commonly, it’s not a very good idea. Because plenty of agencies which offer such services use bots and referral web sites and that sort of visitors can also even cause troubles in your website.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think if you are just a newbie and really want to see results in a faster way then paying for it is your first and foremost choice. I don't see anything bad about it but it makes you lazy and you're like investing since you'll take out more money than doing it yourself. Maybe it is good for a start but you really have to learn this on your own and do the job yourself for more earnings in the future.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Kakashi2020
In my opinion it should be done side by side with legitimate traffic building efforts or else your site would never succeed in having a legit traffic flow.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

For me it's a question of whether the juice is worth the squeeze, so to speak. If you're paying money to get traffic, you're ultimately going to want some kind of return from that investment over the long term. If you have a strategy for how that's going to occur then I don't think it's necessarily bad. Personally I'd prefer organic traffic because it'll stick around, whereas paid traffic stops once the money train does.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Kakashi2020
That's correct and I agree if the end justifies the means then go for it. Like for example getting traffic for views in YouTube costs $100 but if said views was realized, YouTube would pay you $200. In such cases fake traffic can be utilized.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

theresajane
That's a great strategy, by the way. It's never bad to pay to generate traffic, just make sure that you plan it well and you can forsee the income that you'll be generating.

Nice text. Well if you are paying big money for traffic you better have a good idea of why are you paying for that traffic. Just be sure to that it pays off and you are not just wasting money.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Kakashi2020
That's right, why should I pay for traffic which I don't know where it came from? I'm all for legit traffic, it's the only kind of traffic that benefits my site because it's a store and fake traffic doesn't convert so it's useless to me.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Judas2018
If it's real traffic, and you can prove it's real or the seller can prove it's valid, then sure. Especially if it's coming at a good price. The problem is, finding good sellers is complicated. Some are selling fake traffic, others are redirecting unsuspecting traffic from one spot to your site using pop ups and pop under's. Those visitors may be real, but because they aren't interested in your company - they'll just move on after a glance or two.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Kakashi2020
Well it depends like for some sites like YouTube, you need to reach a number of views first to get paid. But if the reason is Seo purposes, I don't think that fake traffic amounts to any value.

I think that paying for traffic is worth because we can gain a lot of visitors for our websites but the only problem in paying for it is that we need to have a huge amount of funds because it is very expensive to have such method otherwise we will not achieve our goals.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yeah, it is going to help us have a lot of viewers for our website which is pretty fine. However, I also believe that we have to seek for traffic that we can as well monetize.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

This is why there are other numerous options for generating traffic like having to give some freebies to people that post on the. Site frequently. You just need to operate with a business mindset.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Well, if you are really willing to pay for the traffic and spend your money for it on a regular basis, then, why not? It's up to you.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

True. It is up for the owner to decide. If he/she wants viewers fast, then, pay as much as you want. But I also believe that for the long run, organic traffic is the best. To improve the number of viewers, a marketing strategy should be implemented. A marketing strategy is very important in any types of business.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NerdIndeed
Right. Keep in mind that when you're starting up any business, you need to secure an ample amount of fund. You don't get sales in the beginning, and for the first 12 months, you might only be breaking even. You're amazing if you get ROI in a year.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Quality traffic may be difficult to get via paying for traffic, but the truth is that you can also get some good views when you pay for traffic. It simply involves getting to understand what your goal is all about.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

There's only a few ways of getting legitimate quality traffic. If you see service providers selling so-called legitimate for $0.01 each, you could be sure that it's fake traffic.

I can see the pont of enouraging a few guest bloggers and getting others to share your site. Marketing makes sense. Social Media presence makes sense, but paying for traffic seems like saying you have a worthless site. Surely, if the content is great and you do the promotion, you will get the audience? I did, as a very new person to making a website, years ago, once pay for content. It was a quick way to get spam and not very many views.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Best comment on this thread so far. I do agree that if you're buying bot traffic it means that your site is worthless. Because if it contains quality material then traffic won't be a problem.

Its a yes for me. That's what actually do of some sellers that what to see their adds or website is to make a traffic on their site. Its give them more chances to know by other people and communicate with them for business. some see their website really interesting so they post it and others see it too and thats how it starts.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Traffic sold are mostly useless bot traffic which only boost views but has no use at all. The conversions being reported are mostly fake too.

If a website is newly launched, it is best to promote it widely and one way to do that is buy traffic. Without traffic, the website will be neglected and unnoticed for a long period of time before it can generate its own traffic. That requires tons of effort and energy from the owner. Thus, buying traffic is essential in the sense that it introduces the website to the randomly selected audiences, hoping small percentage of them are repeated visitors. I believe it is perfectly legit.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

If it's buying traffic directly, I don't think it's worth it. I paid someone to subscribe and watch my videos on Youtube for example. I had more traffic than all of my time on Youtube but it was only for that one moment. It went back to usual after. They were dead subs. I'd rather invest money in building a blog or doing SEO work than direct traffic.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Judas2018
When it comes to Youtube, it's better to invest in SEO as opposed to subs or views programs.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Once they've finished the job and received the money, they won't watch your content. Some even unsubscribe from the channel but I think that's Youtube's cleaning up sub bots. I think it's better to invest in SEO so your videos will appear on the search page of Youtube which will attract live traffic to your account.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Kakashi2020
I fully agree with you that bought traffic is wasted money. It's best to invest your time and money in SEO services because it would give you continuous legitimate traffic and not bot traffic.

Facebook and Google traffic is the best investment for traffic as I've read that majority of internet traffic is from these sites. Though it's hard to setup specially if it's not your main job and you're short on money though.

I can't say for Google Adwords, but Facebook Ads is easy to set up believe me (as long as you have the materials for the ad). Make the best use of Facebook Insights to gain information for your target market, and you're good to go. Also learn match types (broad, phrase, exact) as these terms are essential.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Bravosi
Well I believe so, you need some basic start to help you get the traffic running. Otherwise you might just sit there and get no traffic at all for months! In the long run, paying for that traffic will pay up eventually. Speaking from personally opinion when I was advertising my YouTube channel.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NerdIndeed
Exactly. Some people are hesitant to spend $10 for marketing not knowing that those $10 can potentially bring in $100 in return. You need to get the right keywords to use for your campaigns. And the match type, it's important too.

I’ve never agreed with the idea of paying for traffic. It just seems like a fruitless endeavor to me, not to mention an unethical one. It might give you a minor boost in organic traffic when you’re just starting out, but the fact is that you’re probably not going to make a profit from the money you invested.

It might seem like a raw way to put it, but if you find yourself unable to generate traffic organically even after investing a lot of time into your business project, the hard truth may be that your project was just doomed to fail. It wouldn’t be the first or the last to do so.

The truth is, I don’t know a single successful site that got to where it is by paying for traffic, and I know several successful business owners and content creators personally.

I thought we should use both the paid and generated traffic. When one buys traffic they should investigate the selling companies if they are genuine or sell bots. Bots can hurt a business

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Generating traffic is a hard work. I do agree with you however, that combining and mixing both is the right way to go. I'm not too sure how to put this correctly, but simply doing one of the both just wouldn't be enough. Paying for some traffic to get you started is a splendid idea!

Well i think that the quality of traffic is more important for your business than the quantity of traffic to your website. If you are able to attract quality traffic to your website then even if the traffic is less , it may result in higher business for you. Getting higher amount of trafiic to your website which may not ultimately be interested in your business does not make a lot of sense.Trying to focus on getting the right people to visit your website will be more imortant for the success of the business in the long run.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Quantity over quality and a matter of choice. One can decide what they want. Either few but quality rather than quantity without quality. I will choose quality.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Kakashi2020
Quality is always better than quantity more so if it's about traffic. 100 Legit traffic is way better than 1000 bot traffic because legit traffic are the ones who'll give you conversions. Well it's true for selling sites.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Judas2018
Rather than purchasing 'traffic,' think of buying advertising on a site or blog that is relevant to your audience. Your traffic from there is sure to be genuine.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That might work as well. You can also try the PPC ads available at your disposal like Google Adwords, FB ads, Instagram ads. Which one is cheaper to get will entirely rely on your bids on campaigns.

PPC traffic be it facebook ads and the Google adwords. It's worth to go for those type of the traffic. And it can be reasonable to work with those type of the traffic. I can tell you from the experience that Bing traffic hardly helps in earning. So the most focused ads are from the facebook and the Google adwords. If you want to make money go for those traffic sources.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It is worth it. The thing with online businesses is that for you to be successful, surely you'll need to spend a ton of money on marketing first. If you are unwilling to do so and would like to do it all by sheer hard work, might be possible, but it will take longer.

I have read in one discussion that buying traffic is good for the site particularly if it is monetized. But we should understand what kind of traffic we are buying because of the proliferation of bots in the internet. There are services providing such traffic from bots only to culminate into complaints that the number had vanished which means traffic from bots are not permanent.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree it depends on what traffic you are buying. E.g I think buying traffic on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter maybe worth it depending on what you are buying traffic for. Is buying this traffic getting you in front of your target audience? If it is then in my opinion it can be worth it. Normally I prefer to get traffic organically through Seo, however this can take some time and some people have no patience. Also get some training on the best traffic sources to buy from and how to target your audience.

There are lots of different ways to bring traffic to your website. You may decide to put up ads on other websites and in search engines then you use pay per click. Another way to direct traffic to your site is through sponsored searches. If you pay for the traffic then you get good results.
