Why SEO Sellers Do Not "Walk The Talk" ?

I learned a long time ago that service providers should "walk the talk" and not just "talk the talk"; so I checked the SEO of the web sites of a number of SEO providers on seoclerks.com.

I was amused, but not shocked, to find out that some of the "top SEO providers" on seoclerk.com who claim to be able to "rocket us unto the first page, etc" were not even in the top 50 Google SERP for SEO keywords on their own business web site.

SEO providers should "walk the talk" and if they cannot get their own websites into the top 50, how can we expect them to help others, when they can't even help themselves.

Think about it.

Almost all sellers I check with Moz "talk the walk" but none of them "walk the talk" when it comes to SEO and their own website.

Now as its on page 1 already I can open a seoclerk affiliate store to earn some extra money Why SEO Sellers Do Not "Walk The Talk" ? but it's also a truth you cant rank on page1 for keywords when you have authority sites already on top 10.

SEO is skills + patience + persistence.

You need skills and patience to move to the top spots and once you are there, you need to persistently keep pushing to stay there.

Trends change so does the competition. What works today might not work the next month.

Good question Neounix. I asked myself the same question way back. Here's my 2 cents.

It depends.

We don't know how the SEO "expert" is using their website. Maybe they market it with social media, or maybe it is just a business card so they can be contacted.

I dabble in SEO myself and something I worked out was this.

1. Targeting SEO related keywords for an SEO website is pointless and a waste of money and time.

The amount it would cost in PBN's, links, time and content, just to rank for keyworks like "SEO marketing company" or something like that, would mean that by the time I got to the top, I'd have to charge $500 just for a small service to start making a return on my investment to get it there. People aren't going to pay me $500 for a small seo campaign so it made no sense for me....I wish though haha!

ROI didn't work out AT ALL for me so I scrapped the idea of SEO marketing, to get SEO clients.

You wouldn't be the first person to think about this- it's all over blackhatworld and places like that.

To sum it up, in my opinion, even attempting to rank for seo keywords (to gain clients) if you're anything less than the Mozblog or whoever, makes no financial sense at all.

Hell, if I had the money and time to get to the top for SEO keywords, I'd switch right over to forex and investments and bank waaay bigger paychecks than SEO could give me!

I'm not there yet! :-o

Hi Neounix

I think the only way we can work out if people are "walking their talk" is to see the results they got for other people- I guess!

I just scroll down the reviews of any service on BHW or wherever, and look for people reporting specific "results" like 40 to position 5 or whatever.
It's impossible to measure their level of skill level just by looking at their website or blog- tricky game hiring people though but that's all part of the risk of hiring others eh haha!

Did you hire anyone here yet? If so, what was your experience? (Not asking for name and shaming though, just out of interest more than anything)

Thanks for the reply as well
