Have you ever found a forum you did not want to leave?

Once I was part of this really cool general chat style forum. I liked the forum owner a lot and we became good friends. I posted there a good long while. Eventually, work got in the way and I stopped visiting the forum. Sometimes, I look back on those days fondly. For me, I was hoping it would last longer. Did you ever find a forum that you just did not want to leave?

I have one or two forums that I visit for personal, not promotion or business reasons. These forums are near to my heart and cover subjects that affect my life personally. I don't talk about the topics anywhere else. So in that way I feel addicted to these forums as they give me safehaven for speaking my true mind.

I feel that way about my own forum, it's my sanctuary online for my favorite topic, which happens to be science fiction. And, I like being there every day to talk about this subject. My enthusiasm for the subject of sci fi helps my forum members get excited about the niche too. I feel like it's a home where we can all discuss favorite things. And, most times I don't want to be anywhere else.

Yes, I have found that sort of website and I have yet to leave it. There used to be 2 websites that I felt like that but I left the 1st one because I lost interest in them.

Some people are complaining about bans there, due to posting issues. Have you encountered any of that situation or heard of other members there who have been banned over trivial matters?

I had been to a forum of seniors and I really loved it there. In fact, the veteran members there know me very well because although the niche is seniors but it is actually a general discussion forum. But I left because of one incident that offended me. The admin replied to my post as if saying I was inventing what I said. He should understand that we live in different cultures and what is white here may be beige there. My posts are always based on true events and experiences. And if someone questions the veracity of my facts, I will insist on it. And it happened that it was the admin. I was really offended. After several days, I received an email of apology from the admin, he is actually the owner of the forum. Maybe he felt guilty with his bad comment on my post or he just speculated that something had gone wrong why I was absent for some days. That was 2 years ago.
