What are the new ways to promote a website online?

I am new in SEO and i am promoting a website for which i do Off page activities like Directory submission,
Social bookmarking, Article submission, Forum, Add posting etc.
But i am looking for some new SEO off page activity. Please tell if anyone knows...

There are very few new ways to promote a website or forum online. But many of the old ways still work, including forum posting for signature and social networking. These ideas will only work if you are active on the site, rather than simply posting and leaving a link. Not only will they help you gain direct traffic, but also have SEO value.

Though some of the links on these sites won't be do follow, the credibility you build with Google will be very valuable.

Pick one or two high traffic forums and create an account there. Then you will want to answer questions in your field of expertise and help others with problems they are facing. The key to establishing yourself on a forum is to just be as helpful as you can rather than trying to promote yourself. Over time, you will be able to suggest that others visit your website, either via the signature line or advertisement. Once you have built your credibility your suggestion won't seem like spam advertising.

You can use Facebook ads and suggested posts to promote your Facebook page or website/blog. Though you will be spending money to promote your site, the ads will be much more targeted than randomly trying to attract attention via Google Search.

Are you using Pinterest? If not then you should be using Pinterest. If you are already using Pinterest, you need to do a couple of things to increase your engagement.
Join Pinterest. follow some people and it is very likely that they will follow back. Create boards and upload pins. Shar your pins on twitter or facebook. This kind of cross-sharing will help to get more engagements. Join group boards n Pinterest and upload the pins. You will gain a lot of exposure. The images you share must be high quality. If possible use images that are specifically made for Pinterest.
