    Did you ever lie about your age on Facebook profile?

    And, is this a valid reason for Facebook disabling your account?

    Some of my friends list a birthdate that is at least five or ten years older/younger than what i know to be true. This must be against Facebook TOS. Just worried their accounts will be terminated if the truth comes out.

    No, but I have seen many girls who often lie about their age with new friends who don't know them.

    It is common for users to lie about their age in Facebook particularly those under 18 years old because they are not allowed to create a Facebook account hence they have to use a fake age to have an account. With some women that I know they are also faking their age to make them appear younger. But for me I have a decent account that is for my personal use and it is silly to fake my age.

    I listed my true age, but it's not visible to the public. There's really no reason to share that information publicly with people that I don't know.

    I used my real birthday, but on the part of the age, I hid it away from the public which means my friends will only get to see my birthday, but not the year that I was born. That has been a better way for me to go about the social life network and it has worked nicely for me.

    I have hidden my age on facebook, however, I never tell a lie when someone asks me of my age. By the way, asking age is not very common. I have hidden my age for privacy issues. I use my real identity on facebook as well as other platform. I use my real name and location, however, I do not share everything.

    Lying about the age is common in Facebook. When I created my account in Facebook, I was already warned on the possible violation if I put false information that’s why I was careful with my date of birth. Besides, my Facebook account is for personal use in connecting to my relatives and friends so there is no reason to fake my age. It’s a big waste if my account would be suspended or deleted just because of wrong age.
