Need help. Feeling overwhelmed by SPAM

My Adsense email is on AOL mail, dating back to the time when I used AOL mail exclusively. For some reason, the email address is spammed with about 6000 emails from sites I don't visit anymore. I'm not sure where to begin cleaning up the email box so that I can find relevant Adsense emails. Also, is it possible to change the email address associated with Adsense? I tried to add my Gmail email for the Adsense account and it said I can't use a Gmail for Adsense. And, that makes no sense as Gmail and Adsense are both Google products.

An easy way to clean up your mailbox is to start by unsubscribing to all email newsletters, especially those which are promotional.

Then you can conduct a search for all emails by a particular spam sender and delete them all. This will clean up many of the spam emails you have received.

I would probably just create another email, then change it on my Adsense account. You could then use the old email just for spam content. I have a specific email for when I sign up for contests and different spammy things like that, and I don't seem to get over run by it in my other email accounts.

Your email address was most likely hacked or your email address was scraped from some source or sold by a forum owner. You can simply create another email address and try to rescue the important emails you have now by forwarding them to your new email address. Don't clutter up your new email address with spam from sites.

That's about all you can do, just don't lose your login details to the new email address as it will be difficult to recover your Adsense account without it.

I had that problem in my first email. About 10 spam mails enter the inbox everyday aside from the spam mails that arrive in the bulk folder. There is a filter feature that can block a particular email address. I just needed to copy and paste the origin of the spam mail to list of the filter so the next emails from that address will be blocked. That solved my problem.
