Why you should welcome failure in order to succeed with your business

Everyone has failed at one time or another and gotten back up from it.  It doesn't matter if you failed at a board game or with a business, if you learned how to play the game better or run your business in a different way, you're succeeding in sorts.  We always need to keep pushing ourselves even if we hit some hard times, do you think successful billionaires made their fortune the first time they strived to be business owners?  Probably not, and they managed to become extremely successful over time.

It's pretty easy to let a failure get you down in the dumps, but you will need to overcome it by persevering through the hard times and learning from those failures.  Here are some reasons why you need to embrace your failures in order to succeed later on with your business.

Everyone fails at some point
It's inevitable, you're going to fail at one point or another and that's the harsh reality when it comes to being an entrepreneur or business owner.  If you go along living and thinking you're not going to fail at something, it's only twice as difficult to get back up on your feet.  If you're able to take on a failure head on, you're twice as likely to recover and learn from it.

If you're not thinking "I could fail at any time" then it will be much more difficult for you to adjust and counter the failure when it does begin to happen.

Failure is a learning experience
Failing early on will help teach us what not to do later on.  Everything about a failure should be seen as a learning experience since it could be your first time doing it, or your 10th.  If you remember why you failed this time, you will be able to avoid it next time.

There are always two reactions to a failure.  You can let it overcome you and get beaten down or you can overcome it and grow as a business owner.  The option you choose will define you as a business owner and entrepreneur.

Overcoming challenges makes you stronger
When it comes to failure, you need to see it as a challenge that is always right around the corner rather than a shortcoming that might happen.  Having this mindset can help you out when you do eventually fail at something.  I'm not saying you're going to fail big time either, you might just fail at one web design and the client hates it or you could botch an SEO campaign or even just screw something up a little bit and let it drag on you.  You need to overcome these scenarios and get better at what you're doing Why you should welcome failure in order to succeed with your business

When you're not afraid to fail, you will notice that everything becomes a little more easier.  You get more analytical, you watch what common trends are and you're more aware of of your surroundings as a business owner or entrepreneur.  When you take the fear of failure out of the equation, you're less stressed as well and have much more focus on your company rather than thinking you might be failing at something.'

I've failed several times when it comes to building a website and making it profitable.  It was usually just one or two little things I missed when setting up the website, and it lead to it's demise.  But those were learning experiences and I now know that I need optimization of everything, keyword research, competition research, case studies, etc. in order to have less of a chance to fail.  But I wouldn't be as good as I am in those areas if I hadn't failed at them before Why you should welcome failure in order to succeed with your business

Will I likely fail again sometime in the future when it comes to my business?  Most likely, but I'm not going to let it drag me down.

In Conclusion:
You need to embrace failure if you can't overcome it.  It's a learning experience that will only make you stronger in the long run and you will also be a better person for it.  You will know what to do and what not to do when it comes to running your business and you will be successful eventually Why you should welcome failure in order to succeed with your business

I have always told myself that failure is only but a stepping stone for me.Infact not trying is worse than failure. We should always try to get up whenever and wherever we fall. The most important thing is not the falling but picking up a lesson or two to build for success is the most important thing.

Thanks Razzy for sharing , it quite inspiring and motivating.

If you are positive in your thinking maybe you can convince yourself that what doesn’t kill you will make you strong. It’s just like saying that failure can make you successful next time because you have already learned how not to succeed so it will be easier to avoid those mistakes. But it is actually easier said than done because you still need to evaluate matters when you embark on another business venture.

I remember a motivational speaker here saying that success and failure co-exist. It's true that failure is a learning experience. No one succeeded without failing. Failure is part of success. If you are not failing, then it means you are not trying at all. Years have passed and you find yourself stuck because you don't take failures are a learning experience. Every businessman failed first, learned from it, and never quit. You right about overcoming challenges. It will indeed make you stronger. It has been said that you are as strong as your challenges and it's part of the learning process. You already know what to do the next time you encounter them. The more the challenges and failures make you strong, the more you grow your business. Success comes your way.

Whatever you have written is absolutely true. If we fail we must not get discouraged but instead get up and fight again. I always try my best to learn from my failures. When I first started my online business I was really unsuccessful. I then realized then my marketing and advertising strategies were wrong. With the help of some close friends and an expert I was able to develop better marketing strategies. I have learned from this mistake of mine. Whenever I have to take huge decisions about my business I always consult others.

This is how I became a better person as well. I first went in as a freelancer back in 2016, but it was quite unfortunate that I never had someone then that can push me to get better even after some failures and that was how I quitted then. Few months ago, I met a friend that really gave me the reason to believe and work harder once more and the result is the new things that I've learnt about business.

I have always seen failure as a chance to learn something new. Everytime you fail or do something wrong you should analyze it and reflect why it happened, how can you fix it in the future and so on.

Only a great person and businessman can turn a failure into a success. Many people simply give up too easily at the first bump. Just remember that failure is part of growing.

The mistake is bound to be seen as something that will help you to improve. Everyone should understand this in order to grow.

The big problem is that the mistake can be very discouraging and this can directly affect the judgment of some people about their own choices.

Knowing how to recognize your own mistakes is an incredible quality and that is definitely not a privilege of all people. Linked to this characteristic, is the fact of knowing how to listen to criticism so that you can evolve and not make the same mistake again.

People need to understand that failure can be the stepping stone to success.

Failure is inevitable for all of us. However, the only true failures are the ones which we do not learn from, in my opinion. Learning from our mistakes is the BEST way to learn--this really changes us and cements into us what we need to do to move forward into the future with our lives, and businesses, in order to do much better.

Honestly, I don't think there is a better way of personal / professional growth. It can be very difficult at times (depending on your temperament / mood) but it's the types of lessons that always add something good to our lives.

However, you must be open to these kinds of criticisms and know how to recognize them.

True. That if we are to be succeeding at something. We are going to fail a lot. And that cycle is going to affect our growth. So we have to learn to take hits and improve from failure. But a lot among us can't do that easily. And for this we have to take calculated risk. I have taken most of the calculated decisions. But it seems like more needs to be done. That timing is something I guess we all wish to learn as well.

If I didn't welcome failure I wouldn't still be trying to make money online. I have failed at many of my online efforts but also learned quite a bit. I had to teach myself HTML and lots of other things. Part of my self-teaching resulted in “failures”. But that didn't stop me. I picked up the pieces and tried again!

I think failure can be brutal. So it's not easy to welcome it. Depending on the type of culture you live in. Things can be pretty bad as well. You have to focus on the success for the same reason. In order for the failure to be easy to ignore and swallow, one has to be in liberal society. So that being said it'd not be something many people want to be part of the business. So that's what I think we have to learn as well.

I personally had lot of failures and I stopped counting. So I am more focused on the success than failure these days. So hoping for more success if that helps. Because at the end we have to count what we have than what we lost.

It is interesting, I think, that you bring up the issue of what society we are in or not. Failure is more "acceptable" in some societies than it is in others. In American society, failure is somewhat "celebrated" if you are famous--we showcase all of these recovery and "come-back" stories of famous people and their ups and downs. However, the average guy is not celebrated hen he fails, and people call him a loser or a has-been, and it can be pretty cruel.

Yes I live outside US. So I have seen that happening around. Me being single in 30s and not having family is considered as massive failure. In other countries I'd have no problem. In fact in US people would tell me to watch the money and live on. That's not something other cultures may allow. So they kind of live in some different bubble. And for them it works out. So I am learning things along the way and celebrating even the failure. I guess this is the way I should approach business.

Your commentary here is so awesome. Even here, in America, depending on where you are and your profession, you might be considered a loser at 30 with no wife or family. I am 45, and I recently went through a break-up, and I live alone. I date and all that, but I actually feel totally fine alone, and I consider myself a success. You have to ask yourself if the societal morays you are judging yourself on are even valid. Don't worry about the others--you are solely responsible for developing your own culture, and it begins within you!

Yes I have managed to get along with dating and having spent time into relationship. I am fine with the way society works. But judgement with or without family and money is going to be there. It all comes down to do we value their judgement or we have to live our own life. I think that's where things are changing as well. I guess we have to kind of feel things that way when we get more social places where people do judge us.

I welcome failure because without failure your never going to learn from your past mistakes. There has been so many times where I have crushed and ruin a good website because I was impatient or I didn't know what to do with growth. You can trust me on this I have learned a ton of what to do and not to do over the years and I am still learning. How ever having said that I have a 3 year plan for my new blog/forum and only after its been online for 3 years will I decide what I am going to do with it. I have learned over the years, that it takes years for any website to take off. And even then there are websites that never take off.

Just like one of my mentors will always tell me that if he has not experienced failure in a long time, then he starts to wonder if things are really moving fine. He told me that failure is like a bullet that shots one to greater success and since I adopted that approach, I've had many opportunities that I made move which on a normal level, I won't have made a move on. So, failure can benefit one who thrives to succeed.

I definitely agree that because what 'doesn't break you makes you stronger'. Business people need to embrace failure in order for them to be able to learn something new so that they may be able to avoid doing the same mistake later. The lesson you learn from those failure will serve as a basis of all the other decisions you will make in the future that's why in order for you to know what will fail and what will not, the best way to determine is to experience it first.

I've always been that person afraid of failure not until last few months when a friend challenged me to rise above amidst issues that stood before me in life. Trying once more was the best decision I ever took for now, I'm planning on how to develop my skills as a freelancer too.

Failing first in order to rise in life is what you've got to accept and understand in the course of running a business. I have seen people who quit from one business or the other as a result of failure. They don't realize that, without failing first, it may be very difficult to rise because you won't be able to learn all that needs to be learnt in order to succeed. When you fall down, you shouldn't get discouraged to continue, but rather pick something from the ground.

No one succeeds without failing. The inventors have failed multiple times to invent the successful inventions that we know today. A popular learning theory called "Classical Conditioning" was also discovered through a failed inventions. Pavlov wanted to reaearch on dog health and he mistakenly discovered how some one could be conditioned to learn new things.

It is a sad fact that failure is a learning experience. I had that sad experience with my 2 failed businesses a long time ago. I had put in time, effort and money only to fail after a few years of operation. There were so many factors that contributed to the failure and I have noted them all down on my mind so next time I will have the caveat on those aspects like cash flow, clients that pay beyond the agreed terms, bad suppliers and some other things related to the workers.
