How do you monetize your site?

We all know there are so many different ways to monetize our website/blogs to earn a little extra.

But what do you use to monetize your site with?

What is your strategy to get more CTR click rate?

Also, what kind of layout is your blog?

For me, I use Adsense and just lately I have been getting more results with it. So I made my site got a lot of content what now. Well once I finished my website well a website is never finished but putting the finishing touches I then added Adsense. So I created a homepage and my first few blog posts, I then changed my settings in WordPress. So now I have made a static front page and have my posts running off blog page. This has seemed to help my website, as most blogs, you see posts after post. But when you create a static front page you can choose what to show first to visitors which is ideal.

I do think this is great because when you're filling out meta tags you don't want your posts filling up the first page as the descriptions will seem to be different. I then got my AdSense code and went into widgets and created a text widget. Which I then clicked the text and pasted my AdSense code in there.

Also, for more of impact and so it doesn't look too stuffed with ads I then went through my first few posts I created. I clicked off of visual and on to text, I placed my AdSense code near the top under my first description. I also placed it in the middle and then the bottom. So far I have had some success with it been layed out like this. What about you how do you do yours and does it work?

I agree with you. Sports can encourage many children to engage in positive activities and prevent them from becoming involved with the world of crime. I really believe that sport can help change the world.

Sport has been life-saving since the era of the Greeks, until the modern era. About the question made by the OP, i think if you invest time in creating good content, it will eventually bring more traffic and make more profit.

I have monetized my site with Adsense as well as couple of affiliate networks such as Amazon, Commission Junction and Linkshare. I have tried other advertising networks go along with adsense but I did not have good results. Therefore I am only using Adsense and Affiliate networks. My website is work on progress, I mean I need to add lot of contents. I am yet to receive good traffic. I promote my websites on various platforms. before I created my website, I did a lot of research and decided on the niche. I am hopeful that over the time it will build up.

Interesting, didn't know Commission Junction...can you tell me a bit more about it? Is it worth it?

I monetize my site also using Adsense but I keep on getting notifications on Adsense that it is only enabled for Youtube when in fact I have fixed it for my blogs. I am currently monetizing them through Adfly and it works as well too, even though I do not get much traffic.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

TsuyoyRival
Adfly doesn't bring almost any traffic for me :/ I wish there were other options or that Adfly worked differently.

I monetize my blog using affiliate marketing majorly, this is from sites like konga, Amazon, clickshare and domain king

another avenue is by google adsense, then people also pay to review their products ,brands, and services.so it becomes a win win situation.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

TsuyoyRival
Is Konga a good way to make a profit? How does it work? Is it similar to Adsense?

I monetize my blog with Adsense and Amazon capsules. However, I noticed that it is hard to get anyone to click at Amazon ads compare to Adsense. I am thinking of adding in third party sites such as Lightning in the box. You need lots of keywords that are related to the ads.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

TsuyoyRival
Amazon capsules? Can you explain a bit more about that? I don't know any about those. Looks like Adsense is still the most popular way to advertise.

I am currently using ADX Kontextua. And that is working out just fine for me. I have also used the adsense. And it does earn me some amount. Though it's not a big money. But considering how the earning is going these days. I guess any money is good money than no money. That being said, it's be interesting to see how the monetization would be in near future.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

TsuyoyRival
ADX Kontextua is similar to Adsense right? Is it as much profitable?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I am getting same revenue out of the website. I don't have much higher revenue as of yet. But yes it works out just fine few cents here and there. Overall the performance of the ads is good. As they make use of the different type of ads in them. So it earns more comparatively. But the payout control isn't there. They pay whatever money accumulated in 30 days.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

TsuyoyRival
Hum, so it doesn't have a minimum to redeem? That is a cool feature.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes so say in 30 days you have got 2 dollars. They are going to send you that through paypal. And if you choose payoneer then you have to wait for 20$. So it does work out that way. I have found this to be going just fine in overall payout structure. I'd say worth checking out if you have a website.

please, can you explain how this ADX Kontextua works?Do they accept all countries? Will really love to know how to go about it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

overcast
They accept all the countries. But they mostly go for higher page views websites. I have found that they seem to be working good for monetization. Though not a lot of good rate. But so far it's good enough to get better conversion. Rest is I guess depends on your traffic.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

TsuyoyRival
Hum maybe a lower site isn't very profitable but since the ADX accepts all countries, I might try it anyways!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

overcast
Yes it does accept all the countries. You can see that some of the time you have to approach them manually. And if accepted they may provide you the login. And in some cases you would have to get invite. Not sure whichever comes first. But you have to try what you can in that case.

Hi Overcast, Thank you for sharing this one I never heard about it before and I'll surely check it out and see if I can get something for me, However I am using AdSense and affiliate marketing to monetize my blogs and I'm satisfied with the revenue but still we all want to go higher which is why I'll look for ADX kontextua too.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think for now you can go with that setup. Kontextua is a good option for you when you want to for for the adsense alternative. As they are same as the adsense. So you can surely make use of the site. I have found that it does give some good rates and earning is definitely far better in this case. You get pretty much good returns out of it.

I also monetize my sites mainly with Adsense ads. And I do choose a theme that allows me to have a cool looking static front page. I usually choose those themes that have awesome sliders that come with the theme. This definitely looks more professional and more well made. Some themes also provide a place to put ads within the content area of the home page.

I also try to monetize my sites with affiliate products, mainly Amazon products. However they don't do as well as Adsense. Adsense is still my main money maker, hands down.

I also plan to incorporate my referral links to ptc sites in the future. I just don't know the best approach to do it yet.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

TsuyoyRival
Interesting how you change the theme in order to make it more aesthetic. Great job ;)

When I was an active blogger I monetized it through AdSense just like you. I think it's the most common and probably the best way outside of the affiliate marketing. I really wish that I would have also started using affiliate though because I hear many amazing stories of how well you can do if you manage to integrate the products you're promoting on your blog or website.

If you don't mind me asking, roughly how much are you making on AdSense right now?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

TsuyoyRival
Personally, i made less than a couple dollars, because I have very small traffic. I am curious how much other people make...also if you can, what is the number of viewers you get monthly, to get a rough idea to how much i need to improve.

I use AdSense on my blog. I don't have much ads. I've only put up to 3 ads per AdSense rule. Also, I am not monetizing it yet because I haven't been able to promote it for some reasons. The layout type of my blog is pretty simple. It's a minimalist layout with ads on the side and at the bottom. It is important that your visitors would immediately be able to see your article instead of ads popping out.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

TsuyoyRival
Yes, it might take a while, months...but i think if you are successful, you will make money daily.

Right. It's easy to say but difficult to achieve specially if you are a newbie like me when it comes to monetizing. But thanks to SEOclerk community and the Internet, we are getting a lot of useful informations in just a single search.

  • Mainly use Google Ad Sense, Amazon, ShareASale and Commission Junction affiliate links.
  • Also installed VigLink. It earns but not a lot.
  • I had Infolinks but no longer have Infolinks because my Tumblr blogs got deleted. When I did use Infolinks it was generating income.
  • I had a Limk Related Posts Widget but removed them because it wasn't earning anything. But then I reinstalled the widget at my foodie blog because it looks really nice. You can set the widget to earn. It has an earnings plan. But I set my widget to only recommend related posts AT my blog. I want people to stay AT my blog when they get there and not click on a related link that leads them away from the site. My foodie blog displays lots of affiliate ads. If the visitor is going to leave my blog, then I hope they click on one of the ads.
  • Just recently I registered with Shareaholic and installed their code on one of my Tumblr blogs. I don't know how well you can earn but I do like the way the ads and related posts display.

RECAP:
  • Google Ad Sense
  • Amazon
  • ShareASale
  • Commission Junction
  • VigLink
  • Infolinks
  • Limk
  • Shareaholic

I currently use Adsense and an affiliate program in my country. But I must go further, for I am not yet satisfied with my gains.

How did you guys started with adsense? Is there like a beginners guide to it? I would like to monetize my site this way to but I just don't have any idea on how to start. Does it work in third world countries?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

cmoneyspinner
I don't know anything about 3rd world countries and all that.

If you have a gMail account then you can probably sign into the Google account dashboard (myaccount.google.com/dashboard) and you should see a link for Ad Sense. Click on it and see what happens. If you get blocked, it's probably your country. It ain't Google. Google doesn't want to block users and customers. Google wants to make money!

I have a marketplace section on my music lesson forum. However, though, it's not really going to do anything until a lot of traffic comes either by SEO, social media, or pay-per-click. Basically, the idea is to bring in a lot of traffic. In that way, certain people will want featured ads.

I don't get enough traffic to run ads, I am about get roll my sleeves up and get dirty with my website. I need to get serious about article writing. Because my blog and forum is not pulling enough traffic on their own. Hopefully soon enough i'll start getting more traffic and I will not even consider ads until I get a lot of traffic. Because I don't want to drive potential members away.

As of now it is only Adsense that I know for monetizing the site although I have some friends who know better that I can ask them when I need information about it. But I don’t intend to pay for the traffic because I am confident that I can pull off with the SEO methods that I have learned from this site. And provided my site is monetized then I am sure that I can recover the expenses for the operation of the site.
