4 content marketing trends to focus on for future success

We all know that marketing trends change just like the weather, and they are even more unpredictable, so we need to stay on top of things or get left in the dust by our competitors.  Content marketing seems to be one of the long lasting things that always help people out when it comes to increasing your rankings so you can get some people to your website, so let's cover 4 trends about content marketing, shall we 4 content marketing trends to focus on for future success

Compared to the previous years, a lot more companies have started to get into content marketing to the point where they are even hiring full teams of writers to churn out a lot of content each week.  These companies are focusing a lot on content creation because it can pull in a boat load of visitors if you optimize everything the right way.  Even better, if you have a lot of content being generated by your team or just in general, you will usually be ahead of your competitors and they might not notice your push in the SERPs until it's too late.  This is a great thing for you because now you're pulling up on the main authority spot within your industry, and it's all because you or your team were typing up some articles every day 4 content marketing trends to focus on for future success

So, we all know content is king, but what should we look forward to and start implementing now?  Well, I'm glad you asked (sort of)!  The following tips are what I personally think will need to be focused on if you want to stay on top of the SERPs or if you want to climb the ladder of SERP success 4 content marketing trends to focus on for future success

Your content production
Content marketing can put a small business in competition with large corporations because Google doesn't care how much money you make, they just want quality content and will reward anyone that is an authority and posting golden nuggets for their visitors.  Write better content and you will be rewarded in time when Google starts to see you as an authority 4 content marketing trends to focus on for future success

Companies are going to be investing much more money into content creation because it simply works.  Now, that's an educated guess, but it's a guess with a lot of statistics behind it so I'm pretty sure it's going to be spot on 4 content marketing trends to focus on for future success  Big corporations like Apple and Facebook are investing a whole lot of money into content creation because they know the power of it, so you should follow suite and start writing!

If you want to be competitive, you need to start writing yesterday or hire a team of writers to get the job done for you.  You can always hire a freelancer to write one or two high quality articles a day for you and it won't break the bank.  Think of it this way, I'm one of the head writers for SEOclerks and my 500 word articles are only $12 a piece.  Now, compared to other writers who are charging $5 for 500 words, my articles seem to be overpriced.  One thing that you need to know is that quality will always cost you a few more bucks and those $5 articles are usually full of grammatical and spelling errors.  You'll also have to worry about copy/paste articles or spun content being sold as unique when you're paying less for your articles.  So, play it safe and pay a little more for your content, you will be happy you did 4 content marketing trends to focus on for future success

Your video marketing
There aren't as many people doing video marketing because it takes a little more knowledge and software/hardware to get something produced that is high quality.  You can't record a video with your smart phone and expect your viewers to be amazed.  I don't care what the commercials for the new iPhone say, you can't use their cameras and expect to be on the same level as professional videos being posted to YouTube lol 4 content marketing trends to focus on for future success

Video traffic has been on the rise for a long time, and that's mainly due to the rise of smart phones.  It's much easier to watch a video on your phone than it was 5 years ago.  We can simply open up our YouTube app and watch whatever we want within the palm of our hands, literally.

Now, if you already know how to set up your videos and get them live, you are one step ahead of most marketers out there.  Now all you need to do is incorporate your videos into your sales process since the majority of people would rather watch a video than read a wall of text you think is amazing.  Videos seem to keep peoples attention even more than a quality article because it's the lazy mans way to learning lol.

Another thing that is on the rise is live streaming videos.  This is becoming more prominent in a lot of peoples marketing strategy because Facebook made it easy to do for anyone that has a camera on their phone.  Before Facebook opened up this new feature on their platform, you had to use a system like Skype, Twitch, or your own setup to stream.  Now you can just open up your Facebook app and go live 4 content marketing trends to focus on for future success

People love live streams because they want to see a real person behind the brand they are interested in.  They want to be able to message you when you're online and get a response, and see you respond in live video.  Live streaming has a great conversion rate if you do it right.  You can run a stream as a sort of Q and A (not for support or troubleshooting) and increase your sales because people will ask questions in real time and get the answers they were hoping, then leave and make a purchase 4 content marketing trends to focus on for future success

Personalizing your content
Personalizing your content isn't the easiest thing to do because it takes a while to produce an image of yourself, or your company, through content alone.  It's difficult, but not impossible, so you will likely need to start this now in order to be ahead of your competitors.

Sure, there are plenty of companies already doing this, but that doesn't mean you're far behind them.  What you'll need to do is create your own voice, which isn't difficult, and write in a way that you actually talk.  My writing style isn't like most because I like to use lol, haha, smileys, and other emotions in my content.  Not many writers are doing this because they're worried about not being seen as professional.  I have a little secret for you, if your content helps them by answering their questions or giving them info they need, they will see you as a real person because your content has a voice and a personality 4 content marketing trends to focus on for future success  <-- Smiley

One of the best things that comes out of your content having a personality and a voice is that people will be able to pick you out of a crowd simply based on how you write.  You don't always have a profile picture on your articles, so by generating a personality within your content will help people see you behind the text and love your writing 4 content marketing trends to focus on for future success

Opening up for user generated content
Now, this is one of the more difficult things to do because it comes with a lot of moderation.  You'll constantly have to monitor the posts coming through because a lot of them might be copy/paste jobs since a lot of people are lazy.  Don't let that be the reason you don't open up to people posting quality content for you, there are always people out there that don't cut corners and actually want to build up their own authority within your website or blog, you'll just need to weed out the bad content and find the people who are actually writing articles that are unique.

User generated content has been around for a while and is only getting more mainstream as time goes on.  If you accept people into your website now, and monitor what they're posting, you can get a massive amount of content on your website and leave your competitors in the dust 4 content marketing trends to focus on for future success

This step is a long journey, even longer than getting your content to have it's own personality, because you'll have to weed out the people who are just trying to abuse the system.  Filter out the negative writers and only keep the positive ones, the ones who are actually sitting down to write up a long article for their benefit as well as your own.

In Conclusion
Every year comes with a new set of things we need to master, but content creation for marketing purposes seems to be here for a long time.  Content is what people need in order to make an educated decision on something whether it be making a purchase or just looking for some information on how to get something done.  Video content as well as articles hold a lot of weight when someone is trying to make a decision, so get to generating them and see your traffic increase 4 content marketing trends to focus on for future success  Remember, the search engines love high quality content that helps people along their online journey, so write up that content and watch your rankings increase over time 4 content marketing trends to focus on for future success

Do you have an opinion about the impact of Net Neutrality on these marketing trends?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

TommyCarey
Well, we don't know if net neutrality is a good or bad thing just yet. A lot of people think that the recent changes will lead to blocking us from websites we like to go to, but I don't know if that will be the case (hopefully).

The net neutrality ruling might be more aimed towards terrorism patterns being blocked and pedophile websites being restricted to everyone within the US.

I'm not sure how it will have an effect on content marketing, but we never know. And also, we don't know exactly what will happen with the whole net neutrality thing going on right now, but I am certain it will be a roller coaster of a shit storm across the internet :'(

The big concern with net neutrality is peoples internet bills spiking really high. If you're paying $40 a month or under $50 a month now - your ISP could jack that up to $50 or more monthly. I think if that happens - you'll see more people move into bundling with their cable companies. Taking cable and internet from their digital or satellite tv providers. That will severely hurt many phone companies bottom line.

Trying to understand one's style is a big advantage for a writer. Once a writer understands how to make better contents, it is going to ensure they boss a particular niche at the end.

Sometimes it is a big risk to do it your way that is not in the standards. But when you get to hit the taste of the readers then your style would be greatly appreciated. When I was submitting articles for a blogger, I was advised to write from my heart as if I was talking to a group of people. That kind of writing was new to me but I was an obedient worker so I followed the recommendation of my blogger. True enough my blogs got a good review from the readers and I became a regular contributor.

Yes, your content production is the greatest content marketing trend to focus upon for future success. Most entrepreneurs are so lazy to produce content regularly and this retards progress. Ignorantly, some site owners are found of using article rewriter tools to compose contents on their websites whereas this is the greatest enemy of their online success. Search engines have algorithms to detect such spamming ideas and you will lose your authority.

Yeah, some of these big companies are guilty of that and one good thing is that they are learning from that by employing great content writers that help out on making articles for them.

Yes, I think we really have to take the time to produce quality content, or we are just shooting ourselves in the foot. It is very important to get our ideas out there are the world to see, and using rewrite tools or lazy writers are not going to help us advance the ball in the least.

I never knew of rewriting tools and it's disgusting that some writers use that to swipe articles. Writing in a creative way will make things better for those reading the articles.

Yes, I have also noticed lately that many companies are actually hiring full-time writers for their future projects. I think it's a good thing for us, the writers since perhaps we will be getting more job opportunities and high-quality writers might even get better pay rates.

But regarding your whole article, a great job of presenting what things we should pay attention to. I think that not enough people take full advantage of the video marketing which is a shame.

It's a good sign that they are giving the writers these jobs for it will mean more income to content writers who are writing to make money at the end.

Yes, other than things like getting youtube likes and things of that nature it seems like not enough people are taking advantage of and utilizing video marketing. It is not that difficult to do and could make a difference between making conversions and not getting any.

I really need to get my video marketing going, but I think that maybe I am just a bit insecure when it comes to being on camera. I've always been this way, but I need to get over it so that I can sell myself better. That being said, I know I could make videos that do not feature me, but it seems like if I am going to make videos to self-promote that I need to appear in them somewhat, right? Also, Tronia--could you steer me towards some of these companies hiring full time writers which you spoke of? I would seriously love to look into that!

The quality of the contents is what is going to matter more when the contents are ranked. I learnt that it is better to make better contents than trying to do it in another way.

I am greatly attracted with User Generated Content concept. I am thinking to convert some of my blogs to a user-generated content site. having user generated contents on your site improves traffic and over all quality of your site. If users are able to post on your site, your website will also have fresh content Only problem in this is compensating the users and quality of content.

I feel like these days video marketing really is the best way to go since Youtube has gotten so much bigger and faster and more streamlined and video streaming especially on Youtube has gotten way more popular and mainstream. I see a lot of videos on there that just instruct to see the description for links so they can get more visitors to their site and I believe it works very well since a lot of people are doing it. It doesn't even depend on the topic because I've seen this strategy done across many different ones.

Although I have doubts on video marketing, I have to agree that it is now getting to be a standard in marketing styles. Even the tv networks have their own video to promote their network. However, for small businesses, I don't think creating a video is worth it because it entails a large budget since videos are not easy to make. So I guess video marketing is exclusively for big businesses only.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Baburra
I disagree because these days you can make videos for very cheap. Microphones and cameras are way cheaper and easily accessible nowadays than they were back in the day when they all were too big and clunky and had to be hooked up to a huge machine. Nowadays you can get away with some hundred dollar microphones and cameras that you can plug to your laptop via USB so even the smallest budgets can look somewhat decent when uploading videos.

Seeing is believing. Therefore, people are attracted to videos more than an article. You can reach a wide audience through video marketing. However, creating a video is more of a technical skill, you must have skills to take videos and edit videos.

I think some of the clickbait type of the trends need to be adjusted. I have seen some of the websites with those trends having that issues. And it can surely be adding more of issues in that case. I guess for each one of us that can be something worth thinking about.I like user generated content as long as it helps people. And it can solve many issues over a period of time. That is something we need to think about.
