Do you hide some content from guests?

For instance, do you have member only forums (for posting videos and photos) that is hidden to guests? Do you tell your guests what they are missing? For instance, 'register to see our video gallery!' What's your idea on this.

The video gallery is a good idea. However, the only thing hidden from my guests are some subforums where long time members post photos of vacations and such. This is just for privacy reasons. Not every forum does it this way.

Also you can hide private forums which are created for privileged members only.

I think that is it a good idea to have a hidden content from outsiders. If they want to see what the site is all about, they then need to just sign up.

There are some forums that are locked so the guests couldn’tsee anything unless they would register. I don’t think that is a good method
because guests also add to the hits. No matter if a guest doesn’t register but
his regular visits are counted. In fairness to other forums, I think it is okay
not to show some boards. In one local forum about horse racing, the board on
the “tips” for the racing program of the day is closed to guests but other
boards are open for viewing.
