If I see one link to a site from a new member, I might not remove it. But if that same link pops up in all their posts and they are so obviously being spammy, then I'm likely to edit the post. That's what the signature line is for to advertise your site. If a forum member consistently advertises in the forum post, they should be warned not to do so anymore.That's what the signature line is for to advertise your site. Posting a link once is okay but posting links frequently is tantamount to spamming already especially if a particular link is being posted again and again. To consider that the member is a newbie then a reprimand is in order. And for the repeat of the offense, I guess banning is the best remedy. But take note that spamming may have a valid reason so even if it is a violation, it can be pardoned.
