Do you have a staff newsletter?

Writing a newsletter for your community is a good way to keep everyone up to date on the latest forum news. However, sometimes, there are private matters that need to be discussed with forum staff as a group. Do you think it would be a good idea to post a staff newsletter just for mods and admins to read? What type of news or info would you include, assuming you used this idea?

This might be a good thing to do, especially if you cannot be on forum constantly as you will want some way to encourage them. A newsletter can be delivered by private staff forum or by email. And, either way it will have tips on how to admin or mod the forum better. Or, just whatever you choose to include.

I feel that this is a great idea, especially if there is a huge community. This way you can always be sure that everyone is up to date on the whole site.

Just the other day, I sent out an impromptu site update (that went to all members) and one of our inactive members actually came back. She was using a new account as she had forgot her login. But it was really cool to see her on site again.

Awesome Beverly. Do you plan on using this tactic every month to see if you can get back any other members?

Well great idea agree with you that it can help in taking members back to our site. Email newsletter also help in keeping members up to date with latest changes, news and some good stuff. It's also good if staff award something to members this will force them to become active member. I'm not talking about money but something special for 1 or 2 days when they do some great work. It will increase popularity and increase no. online members Do you have a staff newsletter?

This idea has worked several times before to re-energize inactive members. And, it's something I will do again, in addition to working on new member sign ups.
