Most admins have access to the very heart of a forum, and could do serious damage if they wanted. For that reason, it's very important to only hire people who are extremely trustworthy. You can't do much after the fact when they have messed up your forum, but you can screen out unreliable or untrustworthy people ahead of time.

A friend of mine had her databases completely destroyed by her admin/business partner over a petty squabble. She had to restart her forum after that, but it was never really the same.

I think that is a neat lesson to forum owners regarding the admin. Since you cannot restrict the access so the admin can do his properly, you need to have a backup measure in case your admin goes out of line. I cannot imagine the pain of knowing that the database is destroyed. If only there is a law, that admin should have gone to jail for doing that destruction. If it can be done to do a backup every day or even every 2 days, then maybe that is a good preventive measure or contingent action for an erring admin.
