Sometimes, they just want to be heard. This is also why people post on Facebook to draw attention and get others talking to them.

Yes, I completely agree with this. It's the basic core reason why people post on any forum or any social media pages. Any other benefits they get from posting there are just secondary bonus.

Forum owners want to draw attention to their own site, so they will post on other related forums and leave a signature line. This method is usually only effective if the person who is posting is actually knowledgeable in their niche and well liked on the other forum.

This is absolutely true. The signature line making serves as an eye catcher in form of advert by the forum owner.

People like to vent about their day and get things off their chest and this is a good reason to post on a forum. For a very specialized forum, they might be there to learn or share advice on the subject.

I have come across one forum that focus on sharing ones bad past experience which any individual victim found difficult to express himself/herself at the time of such horror.

Facebook have a lot of vulgar words which I hated most, I prefer clean conversation and not the sick , yellow head people who join the community . Forum sites are better because the admin is taking care of the community, avoid spam and obscene words. I like community who are helpful and kind, supportive. That is why forum is getting popular

It's not that Facebook support doesn't work against abusive words, the only problem with them is that they wait for any of such comments to be reported before they take action and this is why forums are a lot better because of swift response age monitoring of activities on the forum.

In my personal opinion, I think it's about getting respect while expressing yourself and from others responses to your posting. In some other social media platform like Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, there are situations where one airs his/her views online and such post would invoke a lot of abusive replies but such doesn't happen in forum because there are certain strick rules guiding people's comments on post.

Personally, I express my self better on forums than anyway else and because forums have sections, one gets to meet people of like minds in a specific section of the forum and views are better exchanged unlike Facebook filled with people with diverse views that may misinterpret one's assertion.

You are absolutely right, I have actually seen where someone was being abused using different sort of language I don't think the person understand on a post she made but in forums the rules says English language alone and it's what is obtainable in it and no insults to fellow members.

I am on numerous forums and post regularly on these forums. I am on paid to post forums where I earn cash for posting. I am also on webmaster and promotion forums where I market and promote my websites and business. I use forums to earn as well as promote my business. I can also do promotion on facebook, however, I don't earn cash for posting.

I find posting on forums to be very rewarding and that is why I always post on them. It has also helped me to stop being addicted on internet since I am now seeing it as an online job. I am rarely active on Facebook but I use it to see latest updates from friends.

I am posting in forums to share what I know. When I learn something that I had retained in my mind, it is either I use that knowledge or share it. And in return, I get to learn some other things especially new ideas about technology. It is in forums where I learned the meaning of responsive website, that SEO thing although it is not very clear to me yet, and the work of forum staff. Oh, there are so many things I have learned, too many to mention actually. That’s why I am wondering why trolls spend their time in trolling when the can make use of their time in a productive way.
