What is your idea of forum success?

My idea of forum success is when the core group of loyal forum members actively post daily, so the forum looks very busy. Even if that's just five or ten people, if they all post every day, then the forum stays active. Of course, it's always good to have occasional forum posters who add to the conversation. This is my idea of forum success.

If a forum member comes to me privately and says how I have changed their life or helped them in some way with my forum, then I would consider the forum to be a profound success. I don't think money is any good measure of a forum's success. Being able to touch a real person's life/heart is one of the things I'm striving for.

I think a forum with at least 10 very active members can be considered a successful forum provided there are other members who post even if not on a regular basis. A beehive of a forum is ideal where the daily posts would exceed a hundred and more than half of the boards are touched. But for a new forum, 20 posts from 5 members a day is a good number although it has to improve week by week.

I am thinking to create a forum. I have a domain and hosting plan. However, I am dilly dallying because I already have numerous blogs and websites to manage. Forum success to me means...
Getting good traffic
Having a lot of members
having a lot of active members
earning a stable revenue.
