Improving The Alert System

Greetings to all!

Is there any way we could have the option to delete the alerts received (similar to an inbox), this would include all aspects of SEOClerks? I as I find it very cluttering. Any thoughts?

No. I was talking about having the option of deleting the alerts once you've seen them. Similar to someones email inbox Improving The Alert SystemImproving The Alert SystemImproving The Alert SystemImproving The Alert System

Gonna get awfully cluttered after a few years of old alerts still choking up the database...

Well, for practical reasons, an alert about a user sending you a message from a year ago just clutters up the database to the point where after 100's of them for 1000's of users, keeping all those just seems ridiculous. There's no practicality there at all.

I'm new and my alert page is already a mile long. Even if, for some reason, I wanted to know about someone sending me a message after several months, I could simply go right to it in my inbox. No one needs the alert ABOUT the message to stay, just the message itself. Trying to find it on the mile long alert page would be WAY too time consuming, as it's not even organized.

I can certainly see having the alerts in the pop up box when we are first alerted, but then they should disappear after we've gone to the page they are alerting us to visit, such as the inbox or order page. There's no realistic use for keeping them.

So, I've given my reasons as to why they should be deleted after being read. If you feel I'm missing some useful reason for keeping them, then please give your reasons why here. Thanks!

Well explained @Asmodeus ! I was going to say that as well...lol

I use my Alert list as a guide of sorts.
When important ones come in, I leave them there until I complete the task, or reply.
When things are just minor updates, I would like to be able to delete them, while I keep the more important ones as reminders. My memory is short, and the more I have to scroll to find the important things I have to do, the more annoyed I get, as everyone wants to be able to make their job easier, and be more efficient with their service. If alerts can't be deleted then I'll lock this thread. @Sean101 I can't seem to move to the thread where it needs to go... Would you be so kind to do this for me??
