What's the average length for your articles?

I have an issue writing really short articles. Most of my articles are at least 500 words with most over 1000 words. And, that's after editing and revisions. I just don't feel as if 200 to 300 words is enough space to fully explore a topic. Though I know that some writers actually prefer the shorter article format as it allows them to write more articles quickly without putting in the time of a longer wiki type article.

I share the same issue to a point. I tend to focus on a lot of detail, especially with writing stories. The type of articles I have a hard time writing a lot about are ones about stocks, trades, etc. I recently did two on Bitcoin and Dogecoin, and personally, I found them to be a tad bit boring. Though I did learn from them, I didn't feel as passionate about them.

Even when I write in point form, I'm very wordy and I prefer to explain things out thoroughly, rather than scattered and all over the place.

I'm constantly going over my articles to make sure the information is well organized and reads easily. Bullet point summaries within or at the end of an article help summarize key points I want to make and keep me on track to make sure I have covered everything needed.

I think average length of any good article is to between 500 to 700, note that it should be focused on the important contents while writing.. thanks for other suggestions.

I'm getting better at writing shorter, more succint articles and summarizing my content so that it says the same thing as a longer article. Still, I would prefer to write and publish longer content for my own blogs and Hubpages as that content always ranks better for me.

Length of my posts depend on various factors:
topic
publishing platform
client's requirement
Some topics demand short lenght, where as some topics demand long lenght. For example, there is no need to write 1000 words for a movie review. However, it does not justify to write 300 words for an article about philosophy.
Client's requirement is also important. YOur article should have the lenght demanded by the client. Recently, I wrote 4000 word article for a client, however, I have also written an article with 300 words.

I used to write about a thousand word articles for my blog but my users complained that they missed out on the nitty-gritty of my post because they're too long and they hardly finished it before zooming off and funny enough most of the knowledge in the post is always toward the ending part,So I jump ship and publish 500 to 700 highest now.So keep reader less attention space and an average of 500-600 words will do.

I am not familiar with the length using the number of words. But I remember my blogs were at least 2 pages of word document to a maximum of 4 pages excluding the accompanying photos. An article that is less than 2 pages would look very short and if more than 4 pages then that is kilometric already. I myself prefer that moderate length for easy reading.
